Senior year in high school, is where this takes me back to. Music seems to have changed on a fundamental level, for the worse. I miss R&B and having our black men who could sing. Now it seems it’s mostly rappers coming up. There are very few mainstream ones left with great voices and most of them are older guys who started back in the 90s and 2000s which shows the direction things are headed. Of course you can find some younger ones here and there but not like it used to be. In the 90s the charts were loaded with them. I guess it’s just the decline in popularity for R&B overall but I miss it.

@@breathej.4872 yeah but look at the guys you named. They’re all over 30 and started pre 2010. They’re left over from an era where black men did want to grow up and sing. The vast majority of young black artists want to be rappers instead. It’s a dying group. And I love rap. It just a shame it’s not more of a mixture like it used to be. I never thought I’d see the day when there would be so few young black mainstream artists I could name with great voices. I miss those soulful voices dominating the airways. Now it’s mostly white guys who do more of the singing.

Ppl dont respect ppl period. I mean u could make a broad generalization about things, or I mean i* and someone could just say see, these r how guys r when u... and stfu. I legitimately meant ppl. Well, lets put this in its proper context. Like you, i enjoy and respect boyz to men greatly. No, absolutely no r & b group has as many hits as the jackson five. No, absolutely no r & b group is as versatile as new edition. No, absolutely no r & b group per man is as talented as the temptations...facts. Lastly, its unfair to call a group the best all time because you cant spread them through generation's.....hard to do that.
