We wanted to be around adults and be accepted by them because we considered ourselves “little adults” and we were in the process of “learning to be adults.” I can’t think of a better way for teenagers to mature than hanging around with adults. People like you have resulted in the infantilization of society. To give you an example, I talked to a teenage girl the other day who was sitting and talking to her friend. I think she went to the high school. Maybe 16? The conversation went extremely well. I saw she was wearing a hijab and I asked if she was a Muslim and it went on from there. I’m 65 years old too!

It’s kinda accurate. People had a clearer, less convoluted view on things back then. Amen to that! When I was a kid, I was allowed to ride my bike a few blocks from home, go to and from school by myself, and play in the church parking lot. We were trained to stay away from people's cars and to never trust strangers even if they said they knew our parents - stranger danger, and all that. I think the adults were worried more about kidnapping and murder than about molestation. Of course, now we know that homosexuality has nothing to do with pedophilia. Just following the local news stories shows that most of the pedophilia is by straight men against girls. But back then, who knew anything, really? I'm gay, and I would never think of touching a child. I don't understand that sickness, but ALL pedophiles should be locked up.
