No it is not dependent on India. We do not provide any fiscal support to Maldives and they are very much financially independent. Yes they do receive a lot of Indian tourists but that is because we want to visit Maldives and not because they are dependent on us.

The derogatory language used against Indian prime minister and Indian people by the ministers , officials and parliamentarians of Maldives shows their level and standard . If the ministers of a country are so cheap and substandard then the standard of its people is imaginable . By their offensive comments the Maldivians have degraded their own country .
