I think this is one of the most true songs. So many times you love someone and yet with neither being at fault, it can be the wrong time or just the fact that both want different things in life. I think this song says it very well. Sometimes Love isn't enough without both people on the same page. I know several couples who broke up and went on to follow their own paths. Each held only good memories for the other, but they knew that together they could only hurt . Then there were the ones who went on only for their paths to cross again, when each had matured or accomplished what they needed to and they were ready or able to come together with common goals. Its not only in dramas that sometimes Love needs time. I've also seen the opposite. People who try and force the person they love to change or forgo something in the name of love. I think this is worse because too often love turns into blame. Lucky are the ones who can meet fall in love at the right time and can find a common path. It doesn't mean that there won't be hiccups or problems, just that they both want and need to be on the same path as the other. As I write this, it sounds confusing, how hard should we fight for our love. There is a Dolly Parton Song "I Will Always Love You". The theme of this song reminds me so much of that one. Loving someone and yet knowing that the other needs to be elsewhere. You can go on and love someone else, but it will never be the same as the one before. Mainly because once a person experiences loss the person changes. Whenever I listen to "Until We Meet Again", I think the love can always stay, but the person won't be the same when they meet up again. It's a philisophical argument I guess. Do you believe there is only one person out there for you? I don't believe that. I think there is a best love for a person at a particular time. And if you are lucky if you get to be with the one you love at the right time, you can grow together and travel life down the same road. However, as many people have found trying to rekindle an old flame without first finding out who that person is in the present is a road to disaster. Not that it can't work, but only if you can leave the thought of the person you knew versus the person in front of you now.
