I was there and witnessed this whole event take place. First of all, the location he fell in is a paved path along the river to view the waterfall. An avalanche destroyed the previous bridge which was much further from the waters edge. This path is now feet from the raging river with a sharp drop and no barrier. This was the highest and fastest I’ve ever seen the Provo river. You also must consider this is snow melt which is around 35-40 degrees. First responders did everything they could. There were easily 50-100+ responders trying to locate him and get him out. He was under water and only visible at times. They had boats, a helicopter, drones, everything and everyone doing their best. This was a heart breaking tragedy which could have happened to anyone. Hold your kids a little tighter tonight. I hope the family can feel peace and love through this difficult time. No parent should have to bury their child..

i was there when this happened, 1:30 was where me and my family members and some other people were watching the water for any signs of the boy, like the guy in the video said it was a whole other experience to be there in person, i am so sorry to the family and i hope you will all be okay, ive been crying on and off all day since it happened and if im crying that hard over a boy i never met, i cant even imagine the pain your going through. much love and may he rest in peace❤

We were down a ways but saw young men trying to put sticks in the water and then heard a woman's screams. We thought a pet had fallen in but after the screams learned it was a kid. That water was so fierce though. How traumatic for the family.

We were down closer to the parking. Right across from the little bridge. We were sitting on a blanket having lunch and saw people rush to the bridge and then yelled in frustration and took off.

Something is missing in this report. Did one of the search and rescue team actually jumped into the water to grab the boy? News report only says, "Eventually, the 'pair' were rescued." Who's the other half of the "pair?"

It was another fire fighter. Start listening from 1:55 and it states he was able to catch the kid but the rope that was being used to hold that fire fighter on the end was slipped from a different fire fighters hand so therefore both kid and fire fighter are in the waters
