Boxing Life Stories: George Groves

George Groves has had one of the most iconic careers in British boxing in the last 25 years.
A world champion at the fourth and final attempt, he shared an audience of 80,000 at Wembley with Carl Froch, had a bitter feud with James DeGale, worked with Adam Booth, Paddy Fitzpatrick and Shane McGuigan and was involved in a fight that left Eduard Gutknecht with life-changing injuries. He also fought Chris Eubank, Callum Smith, Martin Murray, Badou Jack, Kenny Anderson and a host of other leading names.
Promotionally, he's worked with Frank Warren, Eddie Hearn, Hayemaker, Kellie Maloney, Golden Boy, the Sauerlands and Mayweather Promotions and here, the father of two talks about the old as well as the new challenges that lie ahead after boxing.

I’ve always liked and respected George Groves. When he beat James De Gale that’s when I started to take notice of Him. He had a great career and realised his dream of becoming world champion something other fighters are still struggling to accomplish. He got out the game with all his faculties in tact and can move forward now and enjoy raising his kids without hopefully having to struggle to pay the bills. With the Internet and social media as an available tool to making a living, he can move on and add to his already gained riches. Well done George, you done great and will be remembered as a great fighter and a great person.
