Thell Torrence, a distinguished athlete and boxing trainer. Thell's amateur boxing career was decorated with numerous titles, including the 1959 All Navy Champion and California Golden Glove Champion. He turned professional in 1959, becoming a World Rated Jr. Middle-Weight, with a notable draw against two-time World Champion Denny Moyer in 1964. He retired from professional boxing in 1968 to pursue real estate and later took over the Hoover Street Gym in Los Angeles. As a trainer, Thell trained ten World Champions, including Riddick Bowe, Ken Norton, and Mike McCallum, as well as Cash McCallum. He also guided 1996 Olympic medalists Duncan Dokiwari and David DeFigabon and Cruiser-Weight contender Sione Asipeli.
