£20 for the Gameboy is a bargain. And it comes with a nice storage box for free. Well worth it

To behonest that repro box would of fooled me as i havent see one since the mid 90s. Either way great haul Mitch. Just had a look on ebay and I came across examples saying both video link cable and game link cable. I would bring it to an expert someone who specialise in collecting retro box gameboxs so they can authenticate it. If it real that woul be one hell of a find.

You would probably need to compare the Game Boy box side by side with another to know for sure that it's a repro - one of the giveaways would be if the card is thinner/lower quality. Nintendo used both "Game Link" and "Video Link" on console and game boxes - so you can rule that out as an indicator. Your insert looks identical to mine (which is genuine), and usually it's only the boxes that are reproduced. It is also easier to find these boxes in good condition compared to other console boxes - I suspect part of that is how many of them were sold.

Crazy crazy people😂😂😂 For anyone to get offended by such an innocuous comment is beyond belief. What Mitch is saying with this comment is.. A. CRAZY for partaking in such a collecting endeavour. B. CRAZY PEOPLE that they would be willing to pay crazy prices for sealed games. I myself collect both sealed & unsealed games. Sealed games of my digital purchases & unsealed because their usually cheaper pre owed. I while i too appreciate the "crazy" pursuit of some collectors to attain complete collections, im not prepared to pay silly amounts of money to get them. And before anyone comes at me with the "Cheap stake" label, we all pay what we perceive the value to be.

Check if it has the y folds at the top, sealed games should have a strip with that consoles logo but I’m not too sure if PS2 have it

Love the videos, im hooked and watching them all. I managed to pick up the Arnold schwarzenegger 4 movie collection on blu ray, still unopened for 50p. Trades in for £5 or £8 voucher my best % profit so far. Love the tips to look for boxsets which others pass by.

Always have security bit screwdrivers with you when buying at a bootsale/shop. Only takes a minute to open up a cart to check if it's legit.

Great video Mitch, what colour is the cardboard on the inside of the box? It’s it white.. if so that’s a dead give away to a repo. Or is it brown and grainy? Would be interested to know. 👍🏼

Buy Meguires Ultimate Polish or PlastRX. Both really good at removing light / medium scratches without adding extra, and also things like nicotine from plastic.

@@retro_rummage_ 🤣🤣 It's difficult to tell without physically seeing it (I could confirm then) but I thought it was genuine - if the Game Boy is genuine and the Poly Insert is genuine then to me it is most likely genuine. If the box was that battered and they replaced it, the Poly insert would be battered too, why would somebody spend out on an original Poly and then put a Repro outer box on it.... ?

It only a few quid and the seller can say no it not like they are children he take advantage of, also when you buy anything unless it's in like new condition you aren't guaranteed for it to work so if you buy cheap and it's a broken it's only a quid.

Are you talking about the sealed PS2 game? I meant crazy in a good way. If you tell me you’re going to climb Mount Everest I’d say you’re crazy. Doesn’t mean I don’t respect and appreciate the effort you put into doing it. I’d just never do it myself as it’s such a task to undertake.
