Thanks! Well it's a very quick one to get together! Could be easily done in a few days. I will have it ready by this coming weekend but waiting on gear.
Looks like a very complete kit and all planned out.. should be a very nice build series.. very nice Jonathan..

I would like to see in your next installment the method you use to drill holes for mounting the turbine. I am assuming that you would use a 90 degree attachment on your drill/dremel tool.

Hey Roger! Exactly! 1/8" hole with a 90degree attachment.
Super nice airframe..... Love it but too expensive toown one lol

I like the matte. Going to start doing my control rods like that looks nice
@thelightersideofrc

Thanks! I'm digging the Matte as well. Looks much cleaner with not being able to see the fingerprints. I think it will look better longer compared to a gloss finish. Makes the control rods Crazy stiff!

what does cycling the servo do? does it break it in?
@thelightersideofrc

Generally if something electronic is going to fail it will usually happen fairly quickly from the start of it's life. The cycling of the servo adds movement, heat and useage. The hope is that if it's going to fail it will happen during the cycling period.
Sir hi, you have not shown us the working of your new 3D printer ?

Saturday video! I had to spend some time learning as I have never done anything like this before.
Two questions: Why not have the servo arm geometry "straight" when that little door is open since the wind force will keep it closed and when it is open the force is the greatest? Second--what pop rivets and gun do you use? I have never used one and would like to. Future "Tip Time" maybe?
@thelightersideofrc

Great Question. Probably possible with some creativity but not sure if the servo position + Geometry + space between the arm and pivot may not allow. Def a great suggestion. On this small front door geometry won't matter much at all as it's in the direction of flow which will close the door. On a main gear door scenario this geometry is more important to help keep door closed as the wind will suck the door open. 2. Just a simple gun from Princess auto/Mcmaster Carr. I've owned a few and they all work the same. I always look for the smallest one so it fit's inside the pipe.

@@thelightersideofrc thanks!
Mind if I ask why you cycle your servos on each build and would you recommend doing it on servos that aren't going in a turbine model? Thanks Amy x

Hey Amy. Always suggest it with every model. Generally if something electronic is going to fail it will usually happen fairly quickly from the start of it's life.
