Bowers and Wilkins' latest 700 S3 series of speakers features the 705 S3 standmount which improves on its predecessor with improved aesthetics and trickle down technology from the current flagship 800 series.
Eschewing the current trend for retro/heritage designs and upgrades, the 705 S3 is a 'thoroughly modern Millie' of a model which certainly catches Ed's eye and ear.

Many thanks for your thoughts; as it happened i've just ordered a pair of 705 S3 in the beautiful mocha finish. These will be hooked to a pair of Musical Fidelity in bi amp mode, Naim Streamers (Atom and Core) as primary source , a naim DAC-V1, and a Rega P8 as a secondary source. I just hope I won't be disappointed, upgrading from my beloved B&W PM1, which will now be moved in another room. The latter have served me well for over a decade now, tremendously engaging listening maybe not as dynamic at very low volume. I think you experienced the same during your time with the 705. I think the top end is likely to be very different between these two. Can't wait fir the mailer to deliver my new babies 😃
