Bow top vardo pic gallery of build from start to current stage of construction.
Building a low budget bow top vardo. Roughly 6x12 and 7' at its widest point. It will eventually have a galvanized roof. Long way to go yet, but getting there.

Looks awesome man! The bows seem daunting to me but it looks like your execution is amazing.
Fine job!
I couldn’t find you guys, even though I had subbed!! Been binge watching to get caught up. This is amazing!

Thanks😀. It has a little more room than the shanty did. Still doing a bit of fine tuning before winter hits. It's not perfect, but it's cozy. 😀
Awesome sauce!

Kristofer Travels thanks 😀. Maybe we will use it at the 2020 RTR. Should be done in a couple months. Then see how it holds up to a PNW winter. 😁

Ramblin Rogers sounds good to me.
Just Subbed number 669 , planning a Gypsy Wagon Style truck Camper, 8ft bed. I'll be checking out your earlier Vid's. Thanks!!!
love your replica version of the "sheep camp"! what did you use for the bows? we have a 1909 sheep camp ,doing some minor outside wood replacement. hard to find, old boards that match the mill style. the bows are all in good condition made from ash, was contemplating metal roof but don't trust screwing into the bows, guess canvas will have to do.. enjoy your build.. ...happy trails....
Considering the cost of parts and value of your hours, do you think that, were you to have to start again from scratch, it would make more sense for you to start with a brand new flatbed trailer costing about $1,500 for a twelve footer (higher or lower cost for different length) ? I LOVE that wash basin/sink setup....

The cost was mostly time. Free trailer and just needed new hubs/brakes and a little paint. If i were to build one that i wanted to keep for many years then a new tandem axle trailer would be much better. This single axle really limits the build to thin and light materials.
Missed an important step! What's the interior wall made of? Does 1/4 inch plywood really bend that far?
how did you do all the bends please details
Hiw did you flex the bows what sort of timber did you use. I've been advised to steam

I did all bows by laminating quarter inch luan strips using tite bond 3. Then sanding. I'm #230 and could hang from them, pretty strong. I didn't steam anything because all bows were unexposed so it was unnecessary.
