... YES, YES, YES it always makes me nervous when drilling any holes in my boat. Great idea on the paper template and flipping it over so they match. I, like you, believe they MUST match. 👍 Even if no one else would be able to notice it if they didn't match, it would bug the hell out of me. As far as the caulking, if you are doing it to prevent water intrusion, it is not necessary because there is a HOLE in the rod HOLDER. ;-) 😉😃. I think you did a great job!!! Thanks for the video. . Like that you used a " jig" great idea! When you start you hole drilling, run the bit in reverse to get it started, it won't torque some much!!

Could have also drilled the screw holes and use them to fasten and hold the template. Great idea

What about the rod holders on the sides? You mentioned your mainly doing this for a canopy so how did you install the rod holders not having access to side gunnel to install backing to rod holder?

Where dose the water that gose down the holders go into the bilge
