What an awesome video! I will not be able to sleep tonight thinking about them Griz, but so cool to know you aren't the only predator in town. Excellent camera work. These are getting better and better each time.

bravo it's because people like you that the hunt becomes beautiful
Great video and very informative. I hunt in Southwest Montana. The area we hunt has some burns from 2-3 years ago. Interesting that Elk still hang out in those areas. I will hunt those areas this fall. I avoided them last year. We see a grizzly or two almost every year and are pretty careful with our food storage and where we camp. It is a little nerve racking sleeping in a backpackers tent in Grizzly country but after hiking 10-15 miles we usually sleep okay - but with bear spray handy.
Great Bull Dan and really nice job documenting your hunt. Good Stuff.
Nice meeting you yesterday, Dan, at the Portland sportsman show. Thanks for the photography tips. I’m anxious to give it a try.

Totally different dynamic dealing with Grizzlies
Got to love backcountry hunts!
Nice location with with big open grassy area and no brush. This is easy country to move around in compared to the brushy jungles I've been in.

Hunting open country elk is one of Dan’s favorites! Thanks for watching 👍👊
Very nice video. Beautiful country
Great video! Entertaining and most of all educational. I hunt Wyoming but not the west side of the state due to grizzlies and that I hunt alone.
Beautiful video!! Color-grading, editing, and composition!!! Beautiful work!! nice elk too!! lol

Well DONE...can say my first two experience with bears were with meat in pack's and no steps taken like you've done...but after that I do all of that and MORE...happy TRAILS
Bravo, such a nice hunt and video, For me bow hunting is more difficult it requires more focusing and also being an ancient weapon as balance between huntsman and prey.

Eastmans' Hunting Journals it’s great you guys are posting (btw excellent job by your cameraman) these types of hunts, shows the skill, and respect to the animal and the sport through what you are doing. Analysing the terrain, using all your skill to create a close encounter! That’s proper hunting! Great stuff and I hope a few hunters take a leaf out of your book! Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺
Great Bull, what an eventful hunt, and those packers you got, who is that outfitter? if you don't mind me asking. They were right there on the spot for you!

cool bear, nice hunt boys.
Leave a small radio or I-pod on repeat at the kill site if you have to leave it over night. Tune it to talk radio or a book on tape for the I-pod.
Great hunt, great bull! Western/northwestern Wyoming has great hunting, but a lot of bears. I hunt in the Bob Marshall in MT and have definitely seen increased bear (and wolf) activity in the last 4 years. Good idea putting sweaty base layer on the kill and leaving as much human scent as possible.

I want to hunt NW Wyoming so bad but I hunt alone and there’s no way I’ll hunt grizzly country by myself. So I stick to the the Snowy Range snd Sierra Madres.
Reminds me of RDR2 hunting on horseback
Anybody know what outfitter he used here?

Why not open a season for grizzlies?
@Randy_Savage_ohyeah

Cole Davis they are still on the endangered species list in the lower 48. Some western states are attempting to get them delisted and turned over to state management like they did for wolves. The animals rights groups however will make it very difficult with numerous court injunctions costing millions.

Grizzlies have actually come off of the ESA, management strategies are still in the works.

Cole Davis it's really not necessary to all things share the breath of the Beast this includes the grizzly and you and the tree you're leaning on or the stump your setting on Native American wisdom it's really not necessary to hunt Grizzlies they are a value to everyone only on occasion that occurrence happens you have to defend yourself get some mace problem persists then take further action it's also wise to carry a pistol with you in case further action is needed

why didnt he ride a horse up there to it after he shot it the next morning...sure would beat hiking in.
Game wardens are more dangerous than grizzly bears lol
why gut? take pieces off leave the gut mess
@danpickar5442
6 жыл бұрын
That's what I do 99% of the time but I'm not going to spend the time to do that in the dark without being able to watch for griz. It took me 10 minutes to gut the bull so he can cool out thoroughly over night.
@ikeeastman7533
6 жыл бұрын
Seth, the other reason you just gut and elk in bear country is a bear can not move, usually, an entire elk whole. They will have to pad it up where it lays. If you take pieces off, like quarters, the bear can take each quarter and go bury it in different places and then you can't find your elk the next morning.
Way to much drama in this video way to much. I guess its great entertainment for the city slickers?
How pitiful and cowardly! Erectile dysfunction would be so much cheaper and easier for you!
