Great interview!! Really enjoyed hearing Phil talk about the process of finding and restoring, and hearing them discuss the current state of physical media (which very much is not dying!!). I’ve got three Film Masters releases on order and cannot wait!!

Such a great and honest interview. Kudos for Film Masters speaking out about the context to create such releases, but also speaking to the brevity of "meatgrinding" and over releasing that also happens, especially something noticed more current. Excellent interview that is connected the realistic value of all this.

Meatgrinding is a very good term that could describe part of this. LOTS of these other labels just go ham at the moment. Well said.

Snapping up as many as I can afford. We are living through the golden age of genre films, and I am loving it. Just received Devil's Partner and pre-ordered Tormented.

Fantastic interview! I’ve not bought anything from Film Masters yet but I think it’s time. I think I’ll need to opt for Beast from Haunted Cave first since I’ve kind of live near Deadwood, SD. Also, I’d be very down for a screening in a cave! Haha

"Crippled Masters" was released in the US by New Line Cinema, and they also released it on VHS mastered from what looks like pre-print material. Was that material not available? Not to slight any of your work on the print you did find, of course.

Thank you so much. Today I'm receiving the twofer, "Creature from the Haunted Sea", "Devil's Partner", on DVD. On Saturday I just came across "Giant Gila Monster", "The Killer Shrews", so I had to order it right away. So fantastic to FINALLY find the GG Monster with COMMENTARY !!!,and the K Shrews too. I was watching these two films on the 3:30 after school spooky film theater on ABC channel 7, Chicago, 60 years ago. Can't wait to receive delivery. Now if only you could get a hold of these with commentary. The Amazing Colossal Man War Of The Colossal Beast I Was A Teenage Werewolf Invasion Of The Saucer Men The Astounding She Monster From The Earth To The Moon The Gamma People The Day Of The Triffids Any Monogram, Republic, PRC spookys. Etc, etc. Should mention, so glad you are releasing titles on DVD too. Kinda PO'd at Scream Factory, and now even Kino/Lorber for haveing stopped releasing on DVD. Their "It! The Terror From Outer Space" only on Blu-ray. Boo

Any reason you’re against Blu-ray as a whole? You can find players fairly cheap, quality is excellent, and pricing is generally comparable to dvd now.

@@TheDiscConnected Well. I'm a senior now with oodles of DVDs, (back when Blu-rays couldn't contain any special features, because of no room, remember ?) In senior housing too, where every penny counts. Never got into the habit, and I really didn't want to duplicate titles that I already owned, and pay more simply for a crisper picture. I do own another player that plays ALL regions though. England, Europe, Pacific rim, even Australia, but still DVD only. Nice to find titles on Eureka, that for some reason, aren't available here, like "The Incident", in a case that has both the blu-ray, and the DVD enclosed. But, sadly, they are phasing out DVDs too. Also, titles like "The Victors", "Tiger Bay", "Stagecoach", 1966, with commentary, and "The Deer Hunter", with director Michael Cimino's commentary, not available in US. Always keeping my eyes pealed for hidden treasures. Bless you guys, please keep it up.

How can we get the MST3K versions attached? 😫 Im sure its a licensing nightmare, and I dont mean to patronize, im sure youve discussed this, but hear me out. Instead of double feature blurays you could develop deluxe edition Criterion style 3 disc, spine numbered sets that have the feature in a very well encoded UHD, well encoded BD, and then your amazing supplements, trailers and an upscaled version of the MST3K episode!!! That package would get the gold! A boy can dream. ❤ Keep up the fantastic work!!

This would be a dream come true for us too! Right now this is not in the cards for us as a very small boutique label, but we're always looking for new opportunities and ways to bring our fans the best release possible!
