They made that look so darn easy and effortless. Great performance!

This was perhaps their finest CD (along with the Quickstep). At these Worlds (1996), I had them in second place for this CD behind Grishuk & Platov.

Yes, lively dances that did not require connections between two partners did suit them well. Btw, Yankee polka would have been another good compulsory dance for them. Have you ever seen them performing it? p.s. Is this a compulsory dance from the 1996' world championship?

Krylova & Ovsiannikov's first CD was awful. They still came 2nd in it of course. That just shows how protocaled judging was back then, and how you never moved up or down. Just like B&K's OD was pretty bad and no way they deserved as high as 3rd, but that is where they were put of course. One refreshing thing about the 94 Europeans and 94 Olympics was U&Z, G&P, T&D atleast switched spots from dance to dance, and M&L and R&K throughout the season some.

@@MsRumex Yup, from the 1996 Worlds. I've never seen B&K perform the Yankee Polka though. That would be interesting to see.

@@gk891 I watched Krylova & Ovsiannikov's 1st compulsory dance and it was pretty bad. It obviously isn't a dance suited to them. I am partly very surprised they came 2nd, then partly not at all since that is how ice dance worked them and they were clearly slated as the #2 team coming into worlds. Bourne & Kraatz had a much better performance in this dance than them and I the furthest thing from a B&K fan. Never saw Anissina & Peizerat's but wouldn't be surprised if it was better in this dance too, and possibly some others.

Looks like fun...huh? Well, if you begin learning to skate at age 5 or 6...continue with a trainer/coach for the next 10 plus(?) years... skating Mon. - Fri. for about 4 hrs...perhaps you could do likewise...smile.
