The bathroom in the Munich Hauptbahnhof was the most pristine public bathroom I've ever been in...yes, at the time, it cost 1/2 euros to use but it's was well worth the money. The employees, dressed in their uniforms, are constantly cleaning every square inch of the bathroom. Germany is one of the few countries I've visited where I didn't worry about getting food poisoning. Austria was another...

What he doesn't say, there are not "hundreds" of filed cases of sexual assault, but over 1200 and the perpetrators were mostly North Africans (Moroccans, Algerians, Tunisians) who had lived in Germany for longer, that is correct, but entered on an asylum ticket as well. What he doesn't say either is that the next New Years eve only because there were 1500 policemen in and around main station and hundreds of people, again mainly North Africans, tried to access the area, again swarm organized and partially drunk. One can make of that a lot of things and draw a lot of conclusions in many ways, but it is simply a fact that this kind of behavior was unprecedented in Germany before New Years eve 2016.

The assaults happened around the main train station , where most of the thousands of visitors to Cologne on New Years would come in and out of the city; it was also around the Cathedral of Cologne , arguably the most important Catholic Church if the country , the heart of Cologne and located immediately next to the station. It turned out that most of the mob of assaulters were of Arab or Muslim immigrants , but not that many of Syrian descent. There were too few police , mainly because Germany had experienced a drop in criminality, so the police forces were scaled back, and nothing like the assault was expected. The criminals expressed over and over again a naked contempt for the authorities. Interestingly , the following year 2016-17, there were controls to who came to Cologne Center at New Years and again large numbers of young Muslim, immigrant or asylum seeking men attempted to converge in the same areas again... Cologne is also the location of Germany’s newest and largest mosque... It is an uncomfortable subject and the largest scandal was within the police and media trying to cover up what happened for days afterwards. I surmise that the Germans are treading a fine grade between the unexpected tens of thousands of refugees from Syria that came ( and no- there were no adequate plans made for this) , the jealousy of other groups of Asylanten and immigrants, the perception of the world on how open minded and non racist Germany really is and the right wingers. That reluctance to bring the discussion out has caused the ranks of the right wing AFD to swell, hopefully a constructive dialogue is going to take place.

To this day, however, my mother-in-law will only eat a very small handful of things, and uses only salt and pepper as seasoning. She didn't try pizza until two years ago, at the age of 65. Of those hundred alleged cases, only less than ten where kept when they started to ask and investigate. Fact is, carnival season in Germany, was, like the Oktoberfest, always some time and place that get a bit out of hand. Like, for example the Spring Break in the USA for sure. Its also fact, that this was the case, 5 years ago, 10 years ago, 20 years ago. Problem is just that we are in a filter bubble and earlier, those stuff wasnt seen or recognized or not reported. But when - ALLEGEDLY - some refugees were involved, because they have seen what is happening and join, people who never overcame racism or developed it new, out of the fear from the unknown, people were on guard, reported it and because its a great clickbait and promised a lot of ad revenue, it was a big story here. Thats the problem of the filter bubble and the media that needs money and thats how this situation get started.

Refugees or not they were middle eastern and assumable mostly north african.. And no, those things don't happen at Karneval or oktoberfest. And they didnt happen at any other occasion, 10 or 15 or 25 years ago... Last time there was fucking mass sexual assault was when the Russians invaded.. OK? so why the fuck are you talking? what is wrong with you? Are you German?
