The boulevard mall was our favorite black Friday shopping! We were there at 3:30am, and so were a lot of people! I was 16 when it opened. It's closing is very sad. Thank you boulevard mall for the great memories 😢

At age 5, in 1965 after seeing a late movie in the theater I became separated from my family and found myself locked inside the Boulevard mall after closing. There must have been a head count in the car as I was soon retrieved by an older sibling. Fortunately, I didn't have to spend the night with the security guard who found me and while the separation was brief it left me a bit spooked about being abandoned.

I'm from Buffalo too, and was just in the mall a few weeks ago, barely anything is left. It is sad to see as I was always here as a child and remmeber how busy it used to be.

Been going there since I was a kid in the 90s from 🇨🇦! It is sad! I remember it had a McDonald’s in the food court.

So sad. I grew up on Parker Blvd. and I remember when they were building the mall and remember when it opened. Everyone was so excited. It really was beautiful back in the 1960's. Those were the days. We also loved shopping at Hen's n Kelly's and Twin Fair.

We need to get all are malls back so we can shop with are families and have eye contact with other humans and meet all the wonderful families out there.why do we need to do everything by phone and this technically has done is cause are children to be out of touch with life and this is not a good thing all we done was allow all these big corrupted companies to get richer and us poorer time to stop this for going any further I know one thing as a child I loved walking threw malls and stores during the holidays and it kept my heart full

Jeez, I remember when we had the Seneca Mall, Main Place Mall, Boulevard Mall, Eastern Hills Mall, Rainbow Mall, Thruway Mall, Sheridan Mall and the Como Mall. Above the many malls, I miss the drive-ins and the Holiday 6 Theater and Showcase Restaurant on Union Road. The past two generations have destroyed the Western New York culture and all that's left are events and venues to stuff your face and get drunk.... Seems about right. With people getting girthier and heavier, the idea of walking a Mall would seem like a horror movie.

What's even more sad is that the Eastern Hill Mall concourse closed last Sunday (stores with exterior entrances are allowed to stay operating).

Wow, it’s like ever since Kovic 19 hit New York is like New York really took a big hit and we are trying to hold it down. Keep it from falling even more I’m in NYC.❤

The Boulevard Mall feels like 1000 miles away from civilization. Lived in Buffalo my whole life and I’ve never been there but I’m assuming it sucks as much as the McKinley Mall, if that even humanly possible.

So I guess McKinley Mall is the (distant) second-place mall in the Buffalo-Niagara market now?

@@Retail_Adventures_With_Alex I haven't been to Boulevard Mall in about eight years, but the last time I was there it felt like it was ahead of all the other non-Galleria malls in the area. I feel like if the Galleria hadn't been built, it would be the dominant regional mall

Just go to the NF outlets. There is legitimately no reason to go to the McKinley Mall. I live in Hamburg and the only reason I’m ever even near that mall is if I’m getting Chic Fil a or going to Wegmans to spend $1000 on 7 items.

Nice video! Its time to knock this mall down and turn it into a town center. Also, I don't see either Macy's or JCPenney hanging around much longer since they both have stores at nearby Walden Galleria. Maybe Gabe's would stay though.

Amherst has these grandiose plans to make this mall and Eastern Hills malls into "lifestyle centers". According to TV news, the EHM land will take 10 years to develop. Sounds like someone's pipe dream. They can throw up a high rise senior living complex in a year and a half but it takes 10 years for a lifestyle center? Sounds like BS to me. If folks aren't coming to a mall with great location, what makes them think they'll come to a glorified square shaped outdoor strip mall? Just stupidity personified. Check out the cracked tile floors in the galleria. Been way overdue for an overhaul. It's this area that's the problem. Our kids are still moving out of state in droves, to get jobs.
