BOUGHT UNSEEN! Can a 30 Year old, 75000 mile motorcycle, be ridden 400 miles home? Yamaha GTS 1000

Having watched way too many Vice Grip Garage “Will it drive home” videos on KZread, I couldn’t resist making a Scottish Biker tribute to the genre, when I unexpectedly purchased another Yamaha GTS1000.
The bike was located in Bristol in the South of England, I live in Glasgow in Central Scotland.
Will this 30 year old, 75000 mile motorcycle get me 400 miles home?
I hope you enjoy the video, if you do, please give it a wee thumbs up, and if you are a new visitor, you can help the channel grow by hitting the subscribe button.

Finally a huge thanks to Nick, the previous owner of this bike, for the advance information, collecting me from the airport, and couriering the additional original parts which I wasn’t expecting. This video might have had an entirely different outcome, if you hadn’t been such an upstanding member of the motorcycling community, and looked after the bike so well whilst in your care. Cheers mate!

This is the best way to take delivery of any bike which is road legal. No matter the age or the distance to be travelled. Getting it couriered costs a fortune compared to a train ticket and a tank of fuel, and by riding it you immediately get to bond with the new bike on an adventure, as well as teasing out any issues which will need resolving. That's an unusual machine but a bargain at the price you paid, I hope you enjoy many more miles on it.

Cheers Jamie, I use a GoPro Hero 7 black on my helmet and handlebars, and a Insta 360 X2 for various auxilary shots. Sometimes hard mounted on the bike, sometimes on a selfie stick. You get nice special shots using the 360, but I find it a pain in the ass to process into an MP4 before editing into the film. I only use it sparingly. Couldn’t use it as my only camera. Thanks for the sub 👍

@@soggybawsmoto I went from a GoPro 7 to an 11. I looked at the 360 for the shots you can get but I felt safe with a GoPro! 🤣👍

Thanks for the invite, I’m not quite at the live streaming stage yet mate. I’ve been watching the Friday night RB streams and fascinated by it, but don’t think I could pull it off I’m a man of few words, when I make my videos, it’s after a lot of contemplation about what I want to say, and about 300 takes 🤣 RB Mentioned last week he used to be a DJ, which makes a huge amount of sense Will keep an eye out for your midweek stream though 👍

Thanks Alien, I’m actually quite embarrassed about that. Too many excuses, but that’s what they are excuses. It was mid summer, I was on and off the bike within minutes setting up those shots. It’s something I will be more careful to not do on future films as other established creators seem to manage.

Thanks for watching Austin. It’s a Scorpion ExoTech helmet, kind of a mid range helmet here in the UK. Are they available where you are?
