I bought one of these right after they were released. I got mine out of Japan and I’ve been happy with it. It came with 2 fabric bands,one olive and one dark grey and if you want to replace one they are stupid expensive. It sits next to my Willard I bought at the Base Exchange in 1976.

Excellent review. I have the JDM version - SBDC143. The bezel lines up perfectly and the 6R35 runs at +5. The fit and finish are awesome. The fabric straps are nice, but I wear mine on an Uncle Chocolate Bar rubber strap. The blue lume is awesome.

Thank you for a great review. I have the JDM version. The straps are incredibly comfortable, but I wear it as a single pass so it sits almost flat on my wrist. I also prefer the grey strap to the green, for my taste the grey is a perfect match, completely changing the look of the watch. Subscibed

They are an extremely good looking watch. I wear mine mostly on black silicone. I’ve barely worn the NATOs but they are quality items. It’s definitely become my everyday go to watch. It looks good from the beach (and in the surf!!) to the boardroom. Unpretentious, but people still notice it. Best money I’ve dropped on a watch from a value perspective.

I have a Black Bay 58 and the SPB185 "Steelmaster." I still want the new slim turtle but have caught myself looking at this one before. I think it would look great on a tropic rubber strap.

I tried on the SPB185 before buying this too. Love the blue dial but this textured dial does it all for me .

Between the two watches, the Seiko you bought is the better value for money. It also has quality and can last long time. However, to impress girls by wearing a watch then Tudor does a better job because it is a luxury brand.

lol I did the exact opposite. I was looking for the marine master 600m and walked out with a pelagos 39. I wanted a light titanium watch and the pelagos is amazing in this aspect. It’s hard for me to take it off. Mind you I already own a marine master 300m and a grand seiko spring drive. But this pelagos 39 just hits differently from any Seiko out there.

I finally had the chance to try on the black Pelagos fxd … it’s absolutely fantastic! TBH it’s a very different watch from the Willard. Great for you to have both ! Enjoy !

Only a silver black bay holds a candle against a Willard.
