Mike as a former Army General officer who watches your channel often I never thought your comments about DEF was a shot at the armed forces. The focus of the Army was, is and should always be operational readiness of the force. The reason we serve is for people like you to be able to voice their opinion on anything. You have what a lot of people lack namely "common sense". Keep up the great work.

You should never say “people like you” when referencing defending the freedoms of Americans. You should only ever reference we stand for the rights of all Americans no matter how the believe!! Because just as you statement you have the right to speak and do as you please. But at times we could phrase things a little different. Only because we as citizens need to represent respect and honor at all times and hopefully we can inspire just one person to be better. That’s all that we can do.

Don't get to caught up on yourself @johndeyermond1087... The point of the message overall is our government that knows well enough that these restrictions are ridiculous and would never impose them on our military (thankfully) has no problem making civilians pay for all that added cost and unreliability. I'm a 20yr vet as well and just by the sound of how your response started, I can tell you were one of this officers that took themselves too seriously. No need to tell everyone how awesome you were... We already know. 😊. Get a grip!

Mike, been watching your channel for several years. This is my first time to comment. I have hilly property to mow, in particular areas around a 3 acre pond. I was not able to cut the backside of the 300 ft long pond dam as it was too steep. My neighbor had a pond and a zero turn mower. Each time he mowed, he had his wife stand by with their 4 wheeler because he would usually end up in the water. The neighbor was at my house when the contractor I use for dirt work stopped by to look at a project for me. He is also in the lawn maintenance business and he had a Cub Cadet steering wheel zero turn on his trailer. We talked, he unloaded the mower and proceeded to mow a corkscrew pattern across the entire length of the pond dam. That was all it took. Next day I purchased a RTZS and never looked back. If Cub Cadet just had a video of his mowing my pond dam, they would never need any other advertising again. BTW I really enjoy your videos. Over the years you have taught me many money saving ideas and how to work all kinds of equipment efficiently and safely. Thanks.

Don't know why, but last video you announced a new yellow machine, a mower was not on my mind. I guess i just didn't know you sold the Xmark. Surprised, i was. My youngest son mows my grass now since my brother died. My brother had a Toro, zero turn. My son's is not a zero turn, but it is a Cub Cadet. My uncle also used a Cub Cadet. My uncles lasted him nearly 20 years, w minor repairs. Josh has had his just a year. Good for you and Melissa. That was cool watching you improve your trail through your forest. With your equipment, you can do anything you need!! I also concur w you about people hearing what they want to hear. Often i replay memories of my family. It seemed every time i found something i wanted to share w them, no one could stay still or quiet long enough to get what i wanted them to get out of it. The dog, the cat, the phone, the child, get a drink, bathroom..... always interference. So i wonder how many commenter's "could" actually hear what you said. Don't know. But im alone, i heard what you said, and no, you did not say or even imply military should use def. Today's video was nice, and thank you. I got a Chromebook for father's day. Love you guys and love your channel. 👍🚜❤️🙏🇺🇲🇺🇲

Mike, I saw your video about DEF fluid not being used by the military and have no problem understanding what you were saying and I think your title of the video was right on. If you want something to go wrong just assign that project to the government and I am fairly certain this DEF situation is directly connected to the government. If anyone has followed you for a while know your feelings about DEF and doing away with it. I only have one diesel vehicle and a diesel John Deere 318D skidloader and a Kubota B1550 diesel 4x4 garden tractor and none of of them uses DEF fluid. The diesel vehicle is a 2010 F250 Ford and it doesn't require DEF and I am pleased about that. but, It does regenerate when it needs to and this too uses much more diesel for a few miles but really isn't a major problem but is a nuisance for sure. Keep up your good work and thanks for taking us along. J.R.

I just bought a ZTXS6 60. Amazing machine. I selected it because I have a large amount of steep mowing to do. 2 Years ago I bought a commercial Husqvarna zero turn and it is horrible on the hills. So the Cub will be at the cabin where I have the steep pond banks and the Husqvarna will stay home.. Both great machines but the again the Husqvarna is horrible on the hills. You will love the steering wheel cub!!!!! My father bought a steering wheel cub many years ago and its still running strong.. We still use it often at my "mums"..

I have had a 4 wheel steer Kubota G-1900 lawn tractor with a 54'" deck for over 30 years and it still runs great and mows perfectly. I agree it holds on inclines and I found that changing the rear turf tires to tractor cleated type even improves its' handling and traction on the most severe hillsides.

As a former owner of a landscape management company, I always used zero turn(Walker/Exmark).If we had a hill we couldn't hold, we put a 44 inch mid-size walk behind on it. Either mulch units or center throw. With the Walkers we bagged all clippings.

It seems that too many who comment on KZread have their braids too tight as we used to say. I own 5 acres about 2 miles from your favorite Bass Pro on I-79 and do not want a zero turn. Many have suggested it. Would not work. Two fields a lot of lawn around the house, barn, etc. I also have wooded areas my late father created when they bought this part of an old farm in 1937. My garden tractor is a fairly new Simplicity. I tow a 13cuft Lowes cart (which I put together many years ago) w/ my tractor. With those 2 things plus my battery chain saw, 26" hedge trimmers, large string trimmer and 10' pole saw (all Greenworks battery), I can take care of this place. Mowing takes about 3 1/2 hours.

We have a 2021 Pro Z Steering wheel w/60" deck 200+ hours, Kohler powered. Great on the hills here in SW MO. Now if you are working for speed and want to make that quick 180 at the end of pass, your arms may wear out cranking that steering wheel around and back, then again I'm in my 60's so probably just me. Maybe i need a brody knob for it haha. One small issue if you are mowing taller grass and make passes over your clippings, clippings will build up under the floor deck forward just above the front end (below foot pedals), hindering reverse pedal and some steering operation meaning stiffer/sluggish. Part of maintenance that i don't recall seeing in manual is to clean that area out time to time (requires removal of floor deck on mine, no big deal a few torx head screws). Maybe this a non-issue with newer models. Good machine overall for our use mowing 3 - 4 acres. Best to you and family and pay no attention to the DA's that do not listen to what they hear.

I just bought the same mower 2 weeks ago and it definitely holds the hill better than my old Z421 did due to the wider rear tires and weight. I looked at the Cub Cadet and the 0% for 60 month financing made the decision a little easier 😉 Plus I like that it's diesel and has the shaft drive and I can't tell you how many belts I snapped in the Z421.

Great video Mike. We have owned a cub pro z 200 60 inch deck for 6 years now. It has a Kawasaki engine also. 650 hours on the mower and other than oil and filter changes and blade sharpening I have only had to replace 1 switch on the machine. We live on a hill and mow around a pond and the pond dam and your right about not giving you the pucker factor. Great choice for a good dependable mower. Cub calls the gearing and linkage under the Flo pan the “clock works” and if it gets dusty on you or wind blowing grass back on you while mowing you need to keep that area blown out. Debris can gum up the works.

You made a great choice with the mower. I spent many years operating a Super Z Hustler. Lots of power and fast but tough on hills. My own mower is a Cub Cadet Z Force SZ. Wow great features. I bought a John Deere Z320R Zero Turn and I love it but I have a small property without any hills at all. It has the Kawasaki motor in it as well. My John Deere walk behind mower bought a couple of decades ago with the Kawasaki motor is still going strong. You brought up some real ouch points for zero turn mowers, and they are all well stated. My friend with two acres had bought my J Deere Zero turn, and he was going under a spruce and the arm caught, and he lost control, and wound up with his neck going into a wire that severed his skin. That's the danger of zero turns, and the steering wheel avoids that. Here is a feature that my hat is off to your new mower and that is the front wheels will actually break camber, as in go completely sideways, and thanks to the rear wheels working in conjunction with the steering of the front wheels you can turn the entire machine on a dime. Having a 72" mower deck means that you have a much wider wheelbase too meaning you have the ability to run it sideways on a hill. My JD the instructions tell you to now run it at greater than a 25 degree incline. I'm glued to this channel. By the way in regards to the drum sander, and not a planer, you really need a planer, AND a drum sander, AND dust collection. Drum sanders create an enormous amount of sawdust, not to mention the planer creates plenty itself. You can get a bag over bag dust collector. No need for a whole house level of dust collection. You can put some Y's on a few hoses, and tuck them against a wall. Anyhow, great choice for a mower. Congrats.

That's just a larger version of the Cub Cadet that my neighbor bought recently.....Kind of thinking about something like that myself, since I have the Kubota BX2680 I really don't need a lawn tractor...but those zero turns are expensive. Right now I have a DR Power 26" walk behind mower and the BX has a 60" deck if I feel like messing with that to put it on. A dedicated mowing machine is definitely needed, but I'll struggle through this season with what I've got, its summer now, so mowing isn't going to be very often since I'm at work all the time and nobody around to water the lawn I won't have to mow much LOL. I had a Cub Cadet XT1 42" with the Kohler 18HP engine, it did great for me, but after my grandfather passed away in January, I found out my uncle's lawn tractor was broke down yet again, and he's put more money in it than it was worth to begin with....so I took my lawn tractor over for him....he isn't in very good health and doesn't need to be out pushing a mower. I'm really trying to decide between a zero turn, or just getting another lawn tractor, my property is pretty flat so a zero turn won't be much of an issue, but I've never been on one LOL. I wouldn't mind using the Kubota but due to where I keep the tractor I have to install and remove the deck every time I need to mow as it won't fit in the shop with the deck installed right now as the opening isn't wide enough. I have about 3/4 of an acre that I would have to mow, so I've been thinking since I gotta replace the lawn tractor at some point I'll go with a 50-54 inch deck....there's a few places the Kubota won't squeeze into with the 60" deck, but if I got a deal on a lawn tractor or zero turn with a 50-60 inch deck it would be fine....have to wait till next year though, finances haven't been going well this year LOL. Facebook Marketplace, and Craigslist is so full of people that are trying to scam, both buyers and sellers, its more of a waste of time than its worth most times. I have a lot of stuff I'd like to sell but getting it all out, taking pictures, uploading, writing descriptions, etc. takes way too much time and effort for what stuff is worth, so thinking I may do a yard sale here soon and clear out a bunch of stuff I no longer use and get things uncluttered.

I purchased one of their first iterations of zero turn mowers with a steering wheel in 2012, it was called the “Z-force S”, half of my neighborhood ended up buying an S model for their property after they saw how it handled on my steep front yard…. Great machines!

Just last week, I rolled my 42” Ariens Into a 2 foot ditch. Left front wheel got too close, and pulled me down into the ditch quickly. The seat and roll bar behind the seat helped. I didn’t get hurt, but it scared me. I was trying to figure out what tractor brand was yellow!!!! New Holland make a yellow combine, but their tractors are blue.

As a prior military guy…, I totally understood what you said Mike. I think you hit the nail on the head when you said sometimes people hear what they want to hear. Hi Mike. Happy Father's Day. A " present" for you & Melissa. I wondered about Melissa & the very fast mower. We have a lot of Cub Cadets in Tractor Suppy Co. I've a few Vermont owners use Cub Cadets. I personally haven't use one either. The Cadet works well at your mom's place. Melissa picky about that trail's 90 degree turn. No adventure. 😆😆😆😁😁😁😊😊😊 Your " new path" will be smooth out in time. That's wonderful. You had a good Father's Day. Question? How your mom Mike? Well. Say Hi to Melissa, Eva, & Hunter. 🥰😉👍❤️💜🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Hello Morgan Crew!! I purchased this exact same mower last year only in 60" cut) because we just moved to 10 acres and needed something more robust. I like you also wanted something my wife could use because it will primarily be her mower, and she does not like lap bar ZTRs and frankly neither do I. I want to ensure people know that this is a true ZTR, only better because the front wheels work as front wheel should (rather than flopping round like a ZTR does) and this is Definity a commercial grade mower from the transmission to the engine to the deck and overall mower structure - really a solid unit. We have about 50 hrs on the machine now - flawless. I really enjoy using it much more than the ZTRs I have had before. You can turn much more precise with the steering wheel. I loaded it on a very tight trailer the other day (maybe 1/2" on either side, and another guy watching told me I would never get that mower on that trailer. He was amazed how easy it was and said he would never have gotten his non-steering wheel ZTR on that trailer, steering and throttle too jerky and no control over the front wheels. I look forward to more videos on the CUB - it really is special unit and I expect it will catch on with others soon - why not! It is that good. No suspension like a Ferris, but that air-ride seat makes up for it in my opinion. Keep up the great work Morgan's - wonderful channel and content!!

I’m right with you Mike. I have been running a Cub Cadet zero turn Z Force SX54 with a Kawasaki 24 HP professional grade engine for the last 5 years. I absolutely love the mower on the sloped sections of my lawn. My only complaint is for cleaning underneath the deck and sharpening the blades, the deck is not easy to remove for this maintenance which I do multiple times per year. Otherwise, I can’t say enough good things about it for mowing grass.

I’ve been running the Cub Cadet steering wheel zero turn for about ten years. I have two of them and love the concept. That said, do yourself a favor and order two of those steering cable that are under the foot deck. You will break about one cable per year on average, and you’ll want a spare! Also check that all the bolts are tight from the factory, especially the 4 bolts holding the engine to the frame.

Mike - first time ever since I began watching your channel that we made an equipment selection before you could discover the best equipment for the job! We’ve been watching your channel for years and I take your recommendations for almost everything when I can because of your due diligence and logic. We made the choice for our Cub Cadet because while we live in the coastal flats here in the inland waterways of North Carolina; all the properties here have severe ditches and swales to control rain runoff and drainage so a standard zero turn would have been treacherous. My wife loves mowing the lawn and we are now mowing about 5acres consistently with our ZTXS-52!! We love it and that air ride seat is worth its weight in gold… however, now I’m considering upgrading to the 72” Pro!!

I have the cub cadet Pro 554S and we love it. As you stated they make the dually, they have two versions of it. 972SD and the 972SDL. (s- steering wheel, d- dually, L - leveler) The 972sdl the seat is air ride and pinned. pull the pin and it will float side to side 15 degrees each way. All the SD units are rated for 25 degree slope. My wife WILL NOT attempt to drive a lap bar zero turn, but will mow with my Pro 554S. It is just like driving a car. The one word of caution is to always keep the CLOCK that you showed under the floor pan clean from debris.

I bought an Old SCAG Turf Tiger with a 26HP Kohler. I absolutely love mowing with it. I mow the bar ditch in our development. In some places it's pretty steep. There are a couple of times where it got steeper than I was comfortable with. So When I hit that level, I pulled back on the downhill side and slammed the uphill side forward and took it into the ditch. But it will hold very well on a steep side hill. It's quite heavy, with me aboard it's over a ton. I think it's more of a confidence thing for me as opposed to the ability of the mower.
