WOW that has a lot of dark colors--that's so hard! i think this is a really interesting puzzle and a fun pick for a speed competition. if they are always easy it just isn't as fun.

Exactly - we have to mix it up a bit with easier or more difficult puzzles. I'm glad to see so many giving it a try though which is fun.

Part of the fun is to see how each person approaches the puzzle. I enjoyed this and am looking forward to more on this puzzle! It would be wild if this was at world's!!!

I agree - it just shows how our brains all work a little differently. I could see it being at Worlds for Pairs which is why I want to practice it with Alison.

I completed this puzzle a couple of weeks ago, and safe to say it was one of the toughest puzzles I’ve ever done! I’m so happy that it was chosen for the BOTYP though as I’ve always said “I’ll never do that!” And it gave me a reason to do it!

The name of that puzzle annoys me SO MUCH. It's a tiger. It's polygon TIGER. WHY is it called Polygon Lion? *rolls eyes * But anyway, I'm excited to finally crack this one open and speed puzzle it! :D I remember seeing Vicky doing it but just never got the puzzle for myself. But now I have to! Definitely not going to be easy, but I figure I should be able to do it under the 90 minutes. I'll see.

I agree - it definitely looks like a tiger and not a lion. Make sure to fill out the Google Form after you do it and have fun! Psst...someone has even done it in under an hour!

Thank you! Well I did have fun but not so sure about the "great" part hehehehe I am definitely more at comfort with doing difficult puzzles and just trying to do the best I can in the time I have.

Finally got around to doing this puzzle! And it wasn't nearly as bad as I expected, did it in just over an hour ^.^ To be fair, I've seen this puzzle before (though never done it myself), I've seen you guys do it and I had like 15-20 pieces connected out of the box which I happily accepted! x)

Wow, I'm shocked that I can't get it from Amazon in the US. It's only available from a third party for way more than I would be willing to spend. I'm so disappointed thst Michelle picked a "widely available" puzzle that isn't easily available in the US. So much for choosing a hard puzzle for availability. I wonder if she was only considering availability in non-US locations.

I just looked on Amazon US and they had like 13 copies in stock. Perhaps they ran out when you look but it appear to be available now. Michelle did the best she could with the criteria that I gave her. And I would hope there would be plenty of other retailers (online and brick) that would have a copy of the puzzle. Have another look and hopefully you can easily get one.

Hi Jess, when I researched the puzzle several weeks ago it was available at a reasonable price at multiple online retailers in the US and Canada. This puzzle was published in 2022, so there will definitely be second hand copies available.

OMG that puzzle looks hard!! LOL very challenging choice. I'm trying my local 2nd hand puzzle groups, it's a tricky one to track down. It does look harder than the Lupins puzzle. Lions Lupins and * nsert another L word puzzle here* Oh My!

Thank you - a very tricky image. I wanted us each to have a bit of time to react to the image and share our initial thoughts with everyone before we started our timers.

Good lighting is so crucial! I added at least 15 minutes if not closer to 30 minutes to my time by trying to guess all the dark colours late at night.

I thought I had positioned myself to have good lighting but alas, it was no where near as good as I needed it to be. And my eyes are not the best - I wear contacts.

Exactly - I have changed my mindset towards speed puzzling and I do it for the fun and try not to pressure myself too much!

I got my puzzle from the USA Amazon. It was a 3rd party vendor but the price was reasonable. However, the puzzle was badly cut. The pieces did not fit together well. The pieces do not lay flat or fit together, there are gaps. This made it harder, but I am just working it for fun. I wonder if others had this problem. I've never seen a Ravensburger of such poor quality. Other than that, I find the puzzle interesting and fun to work ( but I have no time pressure ). It's a new type for me. I'm glad I've been able to try it. I am amazed at the times all the speed puzzlers are turning in.

I had issues with some of the pieces in my puzzle as well. I forgot to discuss it more thoroughly in the video. This was probably also my worse Ravensburger puzzle quality-wise. 💜🧩

I think they may have been pieces that didn’t go together. I’ve had quite a few like that in Ravensburger puzzles lately. Often they’re stuck together in a way so they’re facing different directions and really stuck so it takes a lot of effort to get them apart without tearing the nub.

No, they weren't joined together properly they were like two different pieces stuck together that needed to be pried apart. I never separate pieces that are correctly joined together but these had to be taken apart.

I completed the puzzle last night....i did it just for fun....after doing the edge then starting the middle it took me a bit to realise that i had the edge upside down😂

It is very tricky but actually I really do like the image. Love geometric shapes and all but wish there was more colour variety in those dark areas.
