Actually, this is the best demo of a violin vst. Period.

Hi, one quesion: when i play a note in the piano roll of my daw (FL STUDIO) it doesn't make any sound and it says "expression controller does not exist". Do you know how can i solve this?

Hi! While I don't use FL Studio, I have found a tutorial that could help. kzread.info/dash/bejne/pn6EpaiYeJPaiaw.html Although they show how to do it using Kontakt, these methods should work with pretty much all the SWAM Instruments. Hope this helps!

what do I have to do to make it sound like that? It does not sound near realistic at all when I use this vst

There's a few things you can do to help with realism One thing I do is instead of using the built in instrument bodies, I use my own custom IR (which you can find in the description). Since I feel that the ones Audio Modeling built into the VST don't sound too convincing. You can use it by selecting the Electric Violin preset, then loading my IR into any impulse loader plugin, and setting the wetness to %100 Another thing is room placement. Adding some subtle room reverb can help make it sound more like a live recording. Also, using something like an extra slider or knob on a MIDI controller to control expression seems to work really well to give it life. Though if you don't have one, drawing out expression can work too. Let me know if there's anything else you'd like to know and I'll try to help!

@@Cmyth Thanks bro you definetly helped me! I stil trying to figure it all out but it definetly sounds more realistic. Just the tip with the expression already makes a huge difference

@@Cmyth Sooooo the use of IR is definitely a game changer to getting these instruments to sound more realistic. I found some free IR's of acoustic impulses from other violin bodies and it really enhances the realism..now is there a reason you use the electric versions with your IR's?

Ah yeah! The reason I recommended using them with the electric presets, is because most electric violins output sound using a Piezo pickup. A sort of direct way of capturing the sound waves of the strings without the resonance of the body, leading to a dry buzzy sound. However, many electric violin players may use captured impulse response of real violin bodies to bring back that resonance that the Piezo signal can’t pickup. So, using the electric violin presets sort of mimics this practice and helps to achieve a more convincing sound!

@@Cmyth totally makes sense and actually reinforces what I was researching....regarding impulse responses as it relates to acoustic instruments. How did you create or record your IR? Was it with an actual violin?

You're crushing it ! May I ask: how did you get the bow pressure to react in exact tandem with the expression ?? I would like to do the same with my setup ! Great job !!

Thank you! I've assigned the Bow Pressure to the same control as Expression, but I've used the new Curve function to make it react more accordingly. Here's a screenshot of the curve I'm using for the Bow Pressure imgur.com/a/DuwffeG
