@@dtiydr Nonsense. Dolphins are much smarter than dogs. Dolphins can tell the difference between two sculptures behind a sheet with very subtle differences using their sonar. They can also understand fairly abstract ideas and communicate them between each other. In a park with sea attractions they trained dolphins to perform activities on command. One of the commands was that it was up to the dolphins to decide which activity they will do next. They would go to the bottom of the pool and communicate with each other. After a short conversation they would perform the same trick together in perfect unity. And it wasn't the same activity every time, they mixed it up depending on how they felt. Wild dolphins have also been known to save humans under shark attack or drowning. These are behaviors you don't see from untrained, wild dogs.

So happens intelligence isn't an IQ it is how adapted you are to your environment. They have no need for things that we have because their psychology and physiology are different, not because they are less intelligent. We tend to hold humans as the standard for intelligence, its probably not the best standard as Chris as pointed out; if we are so smart why are we killing each and destroying the planet in the process. Oh, we are destroying the planet and its possible to destroy a planet and unfortunately that experiment is well underway. This isn't going to very pretty in about 50-100 years. Maybe you might be around for that light to go off in your head as realize you and all the people love and care for will die.

Unfortunately you miss the point is that with our supposedly superior intelligence we can and we are, we do, True They can't wreak the environment, so are you saying that since they can't wreak the environment and we can makes us superior? They could wreak small parts of the environment by over fishing an area. As you may notice they are very adapted by their shape to the environment they live in. However they do have sentimentality towards themselves, and others. They have held people afloat when they were in trouble. They have pushed them back to land. They recognize people with medical problems such as heart problems and pregnant women. They will spend more time with people with internal health issues which they determine by using their sonar without going to medical school. My comments aren't based on sentimentally, they are based how they use their superior intelligent differently. Being the best killers doesn't make us superior however we take great pride in it, ask Native Americans who lost the war to superior killers, not necessary superior human beings.

BEAUTIFUL! I almost cried at the beauty of this interaction - the trust of that beautiful animal, to swim right up to all of the lights, machines, divers, etc. The quick wits of the diver were awesome - but you know, it may also be that the dolphin communicated mentally, somehow. They are fantastically intelligent, beyond what man currently knows about them. Anyway, thank you so much for this upload. Both favorite and saved to my special critter playlist :))

Amazing intelligence. He knew that the "swimming monkeys" had hands, and tools, and that they had empathy, and he even understood the diver's hand signals. He even endured extra pain while it was being removed, but he knew the outcome would be better so he didn't attack the diver through the pain. If dolphins had hands, they'd rule the world, not us.

Society's punishments are small compared to the wounds we inflict on our soul when we look the other way." - MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR.; "I hope to make people realize how totally helpless animals are, how dependent on us, trusting as a child must that we will be kind and take care of their needs... Its really sad to think there are probably many dolphins out there, harmed by the by-product of humans, who do not get help. At least this one made it. If dolphins are as clever as we think they are, what's stopping the creation of a swim-in clinic? Once word gets out, more could come and get fixed up, although, some would probably not be able to make the long swim. :)
