You can fix the mistake by staying retired and staying out of it. Your family and your party has had too strong a grip on Botswana’s politics for far too long. Let other generations take over.

The problem is that an elected official should not be the one naming a successor, the people must choose who they want as their next leader.

Mr Mogae also have to fix what he did by nominating you as his successor
