Especially the nostril bots as they seem to thrive inside the wet and warm climate in the sinuses. It's relieving just to see it get properly pulled out and the healing begin psychologically almost instantly. 😢❤

@@MatthewBaileyBeAfraid A maggot is a larva. It is an intermediary step in the insect's life-cycle - adult lays egg, egg hatches larva (maggot), maggot becomes pupa, pupa becomes adult. And so the cycle goes.
@MatthewBaileyBeAfraid
4 жыл бұрын
Ken Newell A “Maggot” is the larva of Diptera brachycera or Diptera Muscomorpha, such as Musco domesticae (the “housefly”). Botflies do not produce “maggots,” which are the Larva of these orders of flies. Maggots are larvae which pupate inside the body of the larvae, and they live out their life-cycle from Larvae to Pupae to Pupation is masses where the eggs were laid, which is typically in decaying flesh of some sort. BOTFLIES, which are Flies like Gadflies, Botflies, Warble Flies, Heel Flies, etc. are of the Family Oestridae.. They too are Schizophora, like Houseflies (A Claude called a “Section”), but they are NOT Muscomorpha... They lay their eggs inside the body of a host, where the eggs Gestate. Then the Larvae drop out, and onto the flesh of a mammal, where the Larvae burrows into the Flesh of the Larval-Host (and also Pupal Host) into an INDIVIDUAL BURROW. There they almost immediately begin to pupate. “Maggots” refers to the sprawling, writhing masses of fly larva (and Pupae, since the Muscomorpha Pupate inside the Larvae, but OUTSIDE of any “Host”). While the Pupae of a Botfly pupated inside a LIVING HOST (Emphasis on Living). Some people insist that the word “Bot” means “Maggot,” but that would be ... well ... Inaccurate. The two words have no etymological connections, and the mis-association is based upon a mis-translation of English, Dutch, and German by Sub-Saharan Africans during the Colonial Period in Africa. Maggots - Pupate externally in masses of decaying organic materials. Botfly-Larvae - Pupate In a Host (some have been known to pupate in the intestines, or in the epithelial lining of the intestines (which is typically fatal).
Bless those who help these poor little critters.
