BOTCH - Live @ Hellfest 2023
Музыка
Dream comes true : BOTCH ARE BACK !
--------------------
Legendary Tacoma, Washington mathcore/hardcore/metal band BOTCH are back in business! Formed in 1993, the mighty outfit became of the most ground-breaking and influential bands during a pivotal shift in heavy music before splitting in 2002. Their split made way for members to form and or to play in other highly notable and influential bands including Minus the Bear, These Arms Are Snakes, Narrows, SUMAC and or Russian Circles and Torment & Glory.

Amazing!
Setlist: 0:10 Swimming the Channel vs. Driving the Chunnel (intro only) 0:50 To Our Friends in the Great White North 6:14 Mondrian Was a Liar 8:46 John Woo 12:34 Spaim / Japam 15:36 Framce 19:49 Oma 24:19 Thank God for Worker Bees 28:47 One Twenty Two 30:54 Vietmam 35:36 Transitions from Persona to Object 42:24 Hutton’s Great Heat Engine 47:22 Afghamistam 52:24 C. Thomas Howell as the “Soul Man” 57:21 Saint Matthew Returns to the Womb P.S. This was amazing! They played all my favorite songs: Oma, Bees, Framce etc. The only bad thing is that the audio is too quiet
Afghamistam is the masterpiece, such a surprise that they played it alive. When I was very young I used this song to help my son to get asleep, and 10 years after it gives me so many emotions. Well, now he is 13 and he's playing the guitar, so ony day I hope we could play this together)
Botch reunion is the best thing that’s happened in 23 hands down!

Man. As a punk kid in the 90s who also loved metal, when Botch’s arrival at the end of the decade sparked something in me that has never dissipated. Then Breach started to really kick off and maybe were even partly inspired by Botch. At least I’ve assumed as much but still their creativity was like Botch, also unmatched. Then came bands like Converge, Cave In and bands I wasn’t very fond of like Poison the Well eventually dropped two killer albums when that new guitarist joined, both Versions and The Tropic Rot feel as though they are influenced by what Botch started. So many both well established and lesser known bands from that era were shaped by Botch in some ways. My band took a lot of inspiration from them and basically we ripped of Neurosis chord progressions and played them with a Californian punk beat. So many genres started to mix in such a great way. Cult of Luna is a band that I think also found their sound from the roots of Botch and Breach but in a more doom metal akin to band’s like Neurosis way. I ranting like a fool coz I’m so damn rapt Botch are touring and making music again. Best band ever.

@@terrydactyl2077 you can’t forget Dillinger Escape Plan was doing something similar on the east coast right around when Botch was playing. Calculating Infinity came out in ‘99. Converge was around then but they weren’t doing the mathy weird stuff until Jane Doe and that was 2001. Orchid is another band that was happening when Botch was still playing that was very influential along with DEP. Both Jersey bands too.

@@Creed_fan_69 Oh man! I was gonna mention Dillinger! They definitely were a progenitor of that proggy genre mixing yet new thing for sure. Definitely for them you could say they were the seed of math/technical prog metal (I hate thinking of these labels but serves to help describe the gist of things). I just didn’t realise Calculating Infinity was that far back! Jesus that’s crazy to think now how much time has passed. But yeah. Thinking about it they were there before the explosion of bands that came after. It’s funny that a lot of these bands aren’t really that well known with the kids today when at the time they were such a big deal and so influential. Especially Converge. If anything they were the band of the era at least in Australia of that sound. Where even the punks, metal heads and meat head HC bros would listen to them when Botch and similar bands were to (I dunno) artsy? That the word? I’m an Aussie so I actually must’ve slept on Orchid. Rings a bell but I can’t say I’m familiar. Recommendation for an album of theirs to listen to first?

It´s horrible haha i dowload the audio and clean the phasing issue, now it sounds great haha!
Drums aren’t the greatest in the mix but Dave’s Vocals are insanely good. Both Dave’s, Brian and Tim are all fantastic musicians. They are such a tight band, absolutely fantastic. Wish I was old enough to see them back in the day, love mathcore and they do it to perfection.

I saw them twice on tour with Dillinger Escape Plan. Those shows were pure magic, both bands on top of their game promoting their genre-defying albums We are The Romans and Calculating Infinity. Probably my fondest memories of the year 2000 lol.

Wtf? Le son était très bon au concert !
let's go Mariners! Botch.....PNW's finest! yearly Showbox show please!

This doesn't sound like a recording from the soundboard, more like two ZOOM recorders on each side of the venue and delayed stereo snares.
his vocals aint changed at all

love watching this but drums get no justice, when I saw them recently the drum sound was 10/10 amazing, they all amazing just top form
Looks like Brian brought Russian Circles' lighting designer with them.......
is there any better audio available?
The sound on this video fuckin sucks ass, which is a shame because they were the hardest shit of this whole festival. They even made me miss a good part of Sum41 even though I didn't know this band at all, which says a lot. And I'm not even mad. They drove me fuckin crazy
Quel massacre ! 😢 Les drumcam de botch sont bien meilleures ! Dommage !!! kzread.info/dash/bejne/qp-jz9erl7rYe7g.htmlsi=bNVQMIW9BZd854cC
awful sound, this was so good live in boston

Slipknot live hellfest 2023 full show 🤘
A proshot Botch show is something I never thought I'd see in my lifetime, too bad the video mix kinda sucks
