    It's a decorative knot for anyone asking. I learned it as a diamond knot. The "pretzel" stage of the knot is called a Carrick's Bend.

    Mostly decorative, it can be used as a button. I’ve used it on survival bracelets as a clasp, loop on one side and bosun on the other.
