Hi Ale, I am not a parent, but I have recently noticed a lot of parents concerned about kids' speech patterns and words. Why is it all the sudden toddlers need speech therapy? My niece and nephew listened to radio stations while sleeping. They became songbirds and I think it enhanced their speech naturally and FREE. You don't even hear the music unless you are directly over the bed. Are their local Christian radio stations in your area? Happy Holidays to you and yours!! One Love 💖❤️

You are a really positive representative for your company. I know you can’t discuss it and I’m speculating when I write anything as I don’t know. If your company suspended you for a month for vlogging while being a great ambassador for the airline, they’re pretty dumb.

I agree with David, in this time of great concern for the airlines, they need all the help they can get from the enthusiastic insiders who actually are both frank and professional in what this lifestyle is about.

My daughter is 3.. we are bilingual too and we started speech therapy before she turned 2. The greatest progress she’s made is in the 4 months she’s been at school and finally was able to have in-person speech therapy. There’s no shame in getting speech or any other type of services. More moms should be talking about the challenges that we face with raising our kids. Merry Christmas 🎄

Don’t worry mama , every child develops at their own pace. And speech is no different. I’m a teacher , Pre-K teacher. I know kids who have siblings either it promotes speech cause they copy whatever their siblings say or it can do the opposite cause their siblings “ do the talking for them “ I know growing up , my parents thought I needed speech therapy cause I didn’t really talk much. But what it came down to was everyone around me did the talking for me. Don’t stress , he will be just fine . I agree school will be a great help . Much love ❤️

I teach at a school with many second language learners. Many of my friends who speak Spanish and have young kids only speak Spanish to them. Or one parent will speak English and the other speak Spanish. Your son will pick up English at school so you can build that foundation at home in Spanish.

I’m honestly shocked it took this long and I don’t honestly understand how any of these flight attendants are creating this type of content…. Working for an airline as long as I did I know that there are strict social media policies…. In addition to policies about using your flight benefits for business / money making purposes outside of the company you work for. I hate that it happened to Her b/c she seems so nice !!! There was another KZreadr from her airline that quit and is now working for another airline… wonder if it connected to the same problem.

My son, my second as well, had quite a bit of speech delay. I was a lot more worried than doctors were but it helped me to be proactive and I had him tested and in speech therapy by the time he was three. It made a world of difference. He's now in kindergarten and gets to go to his speech teacher during his kindergarten day. He loves it!! I worried that his speech would hurt him when it came to other academic milestones but that has never been an issue. He reads really well (as well or better than his peers), writes amazingly, and is able to carry on a conversation. I think if you're worried and can get him in, might as well do it. Speech therapy can only help him to progress. :) And it can help to put your mind at ease.

Occupational Therapist here! You’re doing amazing with your kiddos, the fact that you’re raising them in a bilingual household can delay speech, however i am sure not actually delayed, because he’s learning 2 languages at once, he’s just working hard to learn 2. . Absolutely getting him in school will help with as he will be around English (I’m assuming) and social skills that aren’t his family, kids learn so much by just observing same aged peers. Keep it up Ale! That being said, You’re doing all the right things, down the road Speech can help if needed. Just encourage him to say the words/objects/ he’s asking for, if it’s pronounced incorrectly, say it back correctly as you hand him the thing. I love your videos!

My son is around the same age as Luka. He is also bilingual (Spanish + English). I got concerned at around age 2 when he didn’t speak a lot. His pediatrician was not concerned but something in me didn’t sit well. I ended up contacting the regional center and he needed speech services. He doesn’t have autism or any other diagnosis besides speech. Now he is receiving speech services from our insurance and the school district. He is talking more then ever now. I’ve been told being bilingual does not affect their speech, I agree with this. I definitely feel COVID delayed him as well. I would begin speech services, they really help a lot. Getting them in school also helps them a lot!

If you get your thyroid check ask them to check your iron, vitamin D, B12 etc. too (if you've met your deductibles and all it's a good time to do it at end of year before insurance starts over again!). Any of those kinds of vitamin deficiencies can definitely make you more tired than usual. I feel like vitamin D/SAD always sneaks up on you this time of year especially when we don't live in colder states, but we're still probably getting less sun than normal. Sometimes you're just suddenly you're feeling all kinds of weird then remember about SAD and it all clicks. Merry Christmas!!!

Not a parent, but I’m a language teacher who has worked w most ages of kids (also have degree is Psychology w a bit of background in development). I can’t speak to the speech therapy part, but I can speak to the linguistic side. It’s totally normal-and expected-for bilingual kids to be a bit behind with amount of words in both languages. Essentially, they know the same amount of vocab, but it’s split between the two languages. So they know half as much in each. They typically catch up by about age 6-8, and you’re exactly right, the benefits so outweigh any being behind for a few years. But a lot of pediatricians and teachers who don’t work in language instruction might not get that. (Not saying this is your kids doc or anything of course. Just saying it can happen.) Hope that’s helpful.

Merry Christmas Ale, in regards to Luka’s speech delay, I know someone who’s son was delayed with his speech slightly and they went to see a speech specialist and they recommended if you can have the child associate a language with one parent and when speaking to them try speak in that language for every word, so in your case if your the Spanish speaking parent, rather than speaking Spanish for a sentence and then using a random word in English as it could cause confusion x

He strred when he was 4 and he is now 7 and still gets it thru the school because he has some issues with pronouncing certain sounds like "th" he says "f". I believe some speech delays are very common these days . Good luck mama!

I wish I could ask why you are cold and croaking explaining why you have not flown in the past month. I know you are not that enthusiastic about promoting your airline as such on your vlogs but please, I think that can be a good thing. I think Vera in particular does a relatively good job (yes she outs herself to those who know her airline's uniform and she has a few times slipped in a few seconds of clips to the identification on the aircraft) but I do think it is wrong to have a blanket ban on anything but the most egregious of anti-corporate conduct. I really think it is shameful that rumor got started, but hell, you cant dwell on it, I actually like it.

I would suggest to consecrate on English with your son for now. He’s going to have problems later (in school) if you don’t. Speech therapy is a good idea. I know it’s hard being a bilingual family. Growing up in one myself!

His school is bilingual they'll speak both english and spanish to him. We decided that's it's important to us to focus on spanish.
