***** I work in the national park service and we always talk shit about visitors behind their backs. Not because we hate them or anything and it's not like we do it to everyone. But when you bitch and complain because you don't know the rules of the park and you can't follow simple fucking instructions, or because you didn't look up anything about the park and get surprised about certain restrictions, well, your fault. Also when you do stupid shit like try to do a U-turn where there's a sign that says NO U TURN and fucking scrape your bumper on the sidewalk and pop one of your tires, yea we're going to laugh and talk shit about you behind your back. We get THOUSANDS of visitors a day and I'd say we don't say anything about or think about 98% or more of the visitors because they don't do or say anything stupid. Also, there's nothing wrong with letting off steam in a stressful environment.

+Eric Christensen I don't complain to staff if I fuck up since I do a lot of stupid shit like make a fail U-turn and accidently light things on-fire. I'd be pretty chill about you guys making fun of my dumbass to my face because I have a sense of humor and don't mind laughing at myself. No idea why someone would behave otherwise. They must have one of the park's tree branches stuck up their ass.

He's literally just speaking the truth. I've worked customer service for awhile now and customers are just awful--not all of them, I've had customers make my day before, but you have to remember that not everyone out there is civil and has respect for other people. This guy was probably overworked, underpaid and was fed up with being treated like shit all the time. I don't blame him

Jaded Mermaid If he hates it, he should get a new job. He doesn’t belong there. I’ve worked customer service for years, and the thing i hate the most about it, is my coworkers that bitch about other customers. It’s immature and it’s unsympathetic and it brings down everyone’s spirits. I feel bad for customers sometimes, knowing that they’re being judged purely based on the fact that they’re trying to get a service. At my first job, my coworkers would get pissed when a customer comes in 15 minutes before closing. It’s unreasonable to be so moody about that.

In all jobs, employers send undercover people to spy on their employees. Remember to always talk in favour of the company. These undercover people can be anybody: sometimes customers will pose as undercover people. They will say all things to get under your skin. Sometimes undercover people can be your coworkers. So remember don't say anything negative even if there are aspects of the job you don't like.

Here's the problem, the guy wasn't only talking shit about customers (every employee does) but he was talking shit about the company that signs his paycheck. Everything he said was negative and his body language reflected his dislike for his job. I've worked with these types of people, and all they do is bring down all the other workers like an infectious disease. If I was this "Boss" I would be looking closely at the manager of that location and ask why that employee was still with the company. His job is to clean up after people, which he hates. He has to prepare food a certain way, which he hates. He has to deal with customers, which he hates. It's obvious that he's not suited to the job. This "boss" made a good decision, and I really hope his employment was terminated. The guy might take his next job a little more seriously.

I hope Boston market sees my comment, if you fire him, you may as well fire them all. Every single customer service worker is guilty of putting on a face while serving a customer and then turning around and taking it off. Even if you are one of the best of the best, if you have a frustrating customer then naturally when they are gone you will acknowledge that in some way. Whether it be complaining out loud or to yourself. Maybe this individual was more pessimistic than most but he didn’t deserve to lose his job. In no way was he rude to any customer, no one should be fired for something like this. I work at Lowe’s and we have an installer that has been there for 15 years, she’s extremely well known and loved and has a flourishing clientele, and just yesterday she hung up the phone after saying “yes sweetheart, have a great day! Stay safe” *click* and then followed up with a “fucking bitch”. And does that impede her work? no! You don’t have to like every single individual and spread yourself thin for a person that doesn’t give a shit about you. And I’m sure being on a high ivory pedestal makes liking those adult-children a lot easier. Try loving customers while you can’t pay to live.

  • @knessing7681

Yes there are incidents where you get heated and say something crappy out loud about a bad patron from time to time in the back of house ... versus Ronnie, *openly* disparaging and disrespecting patrons consistently *unprovoked* and openly to the team environment and to a new trainee no less. Two very very different things. And who said you have to like every single patrons? Showing common courtesy does not equal to having to like someone. And you are not entitled to patrons "giving a shit about you" you are there to serve them, they are not there to serve you. "Try loving customers while you can’t pay to live." Then that's on you ... the issue is you ... not on the patrons/customers. Who is telling you to love your customers? You're only there to provide courteous service ... and any friendship that's established is just a bonus. He most definitely deserve to lose his Job ... the manager should had lost his job too for promoting and putting a person like Ronnie in a leadership position ... the dude is no Leader. I worked with and managed people like you and Ronnie a bunch of toxic whining debbie downers that bring the whole atmosphere down of the work environment.

@@knessing7681 maybe he disclosed a little too Much and that I can agree with. When you’re training a new person you definitely shouldn’t be impeding their training with a bunch of unprofessional negativity. But the majority of my comment was based on how EVERYONE in customer service says something negative against customers. He doesn’t seem like he needs to lose his job, he seems clinically depressed, maybe he requires some therapy or medication.

To the people defending him on the grounds of freedom of speech: that isn't the case why he's on the chopping block. The reason he's in that position because his actions and line of thinking caused his employer to doubt he's competent for the job, that's pretty common in workplaces. You can say whatever you want while on the clock; its your right to do so. But remember; if you're pretty verbal about hating your job and not caring for your performance (while in your workplace, no less); chances are that your employer will want to get rid of you as soon as possible, because you're on the fast-road on becoming a liability to them, and the last thing they want is someone bleeding them money. So really this is less about his freedom of speech and more of how inept he is.

I stand mostly with Sara Bittorf on this. I know working in customer service can be really annoying and unforgiving, but I still wouldn't approve of that kind of shitty open attitude. If you wanna complain, take it to the manager and choose your words wisely. Alternatively, quit and make a living from something you like to do.

saddest part is that he's driving some crappy dodge stationwagon. Overall, he's a lot like a gay ex coworker of mine. They all have this type of bitchy/sassiness but it doesn't mean they're bad employees. His mistake was immediately inviting her into his 'gossip circle'. He didn't know her long enough to do that.

Such awful comments. Customers make the business and this boy deserved what he had coming. Y'all should be ashamed of yourself for talking like he had the right. I have worked in Customer Services for over a decade and it is an attitude you decide go with. Challenging customers are everywhere but if you want respect you got to show it to them and have some self respect too. Your boss will see your attitude and can decide whether or not you deserve promotion, and nasty attitudes don't fit into any business plan.

+obbzerver I worked at KFC & other fast food restaurants when I was young & "never" spit on anyone's food. That never even cross my mind. However, I did accidentally drop a tray full of fried chicken on the greasy floor & the restaurant manager told me to pick it up & serve it to the customers. I was about to throw it in the trash, he yelled at me & told me that money in their pocket. 😞🐔

The guy say it straight hiw is it. Not everyone that buys a meal there knows the basics of hygiene (usage of napkins) , people often are too lazy for even this simple thing. If he works 8-12hrs a day no wonder he may be annoyed with children attitude. However, he 's chosen the job with qorking daily with people so he has to prepare himself for some negatives of doing it

Says something about your company if your staff member is telling you you're shoving things down their throat, to shove things down customers throats. It actually works in your favour if he doesn't want to do that and in turn, wants to help customers... If this staff member doesn't understand why these rules are put in place that's down to your poor training.
