You'll forget about me after I've been gone
And I take what I find, I don't want no more
It's just outside of your front door

...along with building all the ROCKMAN amplifiers, speaker cabinets, and guitar processor units that influenced some of the best musicians and bands on the planet (see Joe Satriani, Jeff Beck, Def Leppard etc.) Tom Scholz was way ahead of the times in the late 60's 70's and 80's with guitar sound and studio wizardry. Incredible production on these albums. like no other. Lead singer Brad Delp had an elite angelic tenor voice that floored everyone. Only a few could match his ability to reach the high-rafter notes and stay in perfect pitch. All vocals (including background and beautiful harmonies) were done by this amazing talented soul. Scholz and Delp were the perfect combination when it came to creating this truly inspired music together...

Minor nitpick: about the only thing Tom Scholz didn't do was the vocals. But that was probably a good thing -- there will never be another Brad Delp. Nobody before or since has had the ability to maintain full power (i.e., without going falsetto) as high as Brad Delp could. Even Freddie Mercury couldn't go that high at full power.

This song is the complete definition of EPIC, lets go back to the 70s. What really grinds my gears is there has been NOTHING close to this in the last 40 years or so. We lived through the greatest age of music, we had everything without knowing music was dying. Every other song on your local FM Rock station was 1000 percent better than the washed-out shit coming out today. What's at the top of the chart today Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber, WTF? And there were no synthesizers. When you listen to it with that in mind, you begin to get the gist of the massive amount of detail Tom Scholz was implementing in his little basement in Watertown, Mass, to get this album done, and close to perfect as possible.. Incredible amount of work. This album is a timeless masterpiece.

Be glad you didn't.. Saw them at Cobo hall in Detroit .. Amazing songs, amazing talent, amazing ( for the time era) sound.. Unfortunately, basically nada for stage presence. Seriously.. the quietest concert ( for crowd response) that I'd ever attended, and I've seen most of the big name 70s' and 80s' acts. I can vividly remember going from Windsor Ontario, over to Detroit, to buy the Album, because it was available there first. Everyone came over to my place, and we played it repeatedly on my stereo. Knew I had to see them in concert. Living in Windsor. Ontario... Pre 911.. It was just a couple of bucks and a ten minute walk from the tunnel bus to Cobo Hall. There's a class of musicians called "studio musicians". Basically, these are musicians who can play anything! And, make it sound amazing!! Boston was like that. They were tight, sounded great, but with the hottest album of the time... They couldn't get Cobo hall off it's collective asses.. I've seem way less talented musicians just 'effin rock the venue, with balls, chutzpah, stage presence.... whatever you wanna call it.. Boston couldn't pull it off.. Not by a long shot. Don't get me wrong.. In an era before "auto tune", and lip syncing, and recorded bits.. They proved that they could cut it live.. They just couldn't get the place off it's collective ass. Not to take away from their musical talent... not at all.. Just... They failed to engage the audience. On the side of my Marshall, there's a sign that only I can see on stage.. It says .." Technical perfection isn't important, passion is.. I need to make you believe" Boston.. in concert, couldn't make anyone "believe".. Maybe they got better at it as the tour went on. But, that was my first hand take on it at Cobo Hall. Underrated playing? For sure.. The double leads on "Hitch a Ride", send chills down my spine to this day.

Plus we could fit myself and a bunch of my sisters in it with our long 70s hair, parted down the middle, and looking hot lol! We would have probably challenged you to race, and, undoubtedly lost, but we would have had great fun doing it. Those were such innocent days. We had more fun just driving around, being seen and heard, than anyone ever has with video games or social media. We were outside, living real life.
