Boston is a band that comes along once in a lifetime! I'm glad I was living during this time & had the privilege of calling them my favorite band! As a musician, singer, songwriter I appreciate their talent even more! It is a shame that Brad Delp (Lead Vocals) who was as good as any singer that ever lived is no longer with us! What a great loss for all! Boston used an old Crate Amplifier that needed some tweeking to get that unique sound they had! Awesome, Talented guys! Boston Rocks!!!!

Now I know why my first wife left me - I just wasn't the man she had hoped to find in her dreams, the man I would never be. Tragically, she never found the man I could never be but I was incredibly lucky to find a lovely lady who took me as I was and still am, nearly 40 years later, the proud father of a beautiful daughter and the husband of a wonderful wife who both love me as the man I will always be. Bless you all.

It blows my mind how they make music today that is nowhere close to this song. Boston, Journey, etc created music that cannot be matched by today's "musicians". The vulnerability , and strength, in this song is amazing. I may choose this song to be played at my funeral.Today women have all the power and the women have certain expectations of the men. Men, and boys, today just cannot meet those expectations. The media certainly doesn't help by minimizing men and masculinity. Commercials make fun of men/boys all the time, we are ALWAYS the butt of the joke in commercials, TV shows, movies, etc rarely does a commercial/tv show/movie make fun of girls/women. No wonder men/boys today are depressed and confused. We are not empowered at all. We are simply expected to do whatever the woman wants us to do. This song is WAAAAAY ahead of its time. So it's no wonder that, in this song, a man is not able to meet the expectations of the woman. This song was meant for now.

Today a year ago I got fired. I went through hell with depressions while my wife improved her career. Today I have another job that pays less and is more stressful. This week we had an awful fight as she compared me to husbands of her career women friends which are partners, doctors, leaders that slso care for their children at night snd do all the housework... Today I was having a lonely walk after lunch and this song pops up:). Never heard it before but its perfect.

Keep your head up! Live your life with honesty and integrity and stay away from those kind of people who think money and status are what makes a good man! You have great things ahead of you! You bore your soul to us and this shows what kind of man you will always be, and not the man you will never be! Let this woman in your life find out the hard way! Rog and I met in high school 1977 had a baby in 79 only 17 years old. We struggled through his heroin addiction, I even married him to try to fix him. One night of his heroin binges we both sat on the edge of the bed crying. He held me and begged me to help him. We hugged but I knew I couldnt fight his fight any longer. We divorced and hadnt spoke for 23 years until he contacted me on facebook. I told him to leave me alone. Three years later he died of an overdose. RIP my high school love. 😥

The paralysing fear of telling someone how you feel. When I thought about telling her, I froze. I just smiled and offered support with what she was going through earlier in the year. I don't want to give her any more worries, if she ever would. A friend recently called me out over it. She said "you love her don't you?" I didn't blush or brush it off as I normally would've done. I simply said "yes, for a long time" 🥰 If I don't tell her, I will forever regret it. If I do, our friendship will be forever changed. My biggest fear is her then avoiding or not speaking to me. Just the thought of that breaks my heart and further prevents me from telling her. ❤️😭 xx This song brings a tear to my eye every time I listen to it.

This song still brings a tear after the hundreds of times I've heard it. It speaks volumes to (and about) me as someone later in life who is too often haunted by past failures, especially the times I've failed those I loved, despite my best efforts - or what I thought were my best efforts. Maybe that's a little overly autobiographical, but I think it is for all of us who find that we aren't who we thought we would become and that life is what happens when you have other plans.

I have been a great fan of Boston since 1977 when I stumbled by pure chance on their first album in a record shop, bought it and at home was literally blown away by the perfection and harmony of the band's wonderful music. This song, 'A Man I'll Never Be', along with 'More Than a Feeling" and the absolutely stunning song 'Amanda', are my absolute favourites and every time I hear them played my mind goes back 40 years and to my long gone youth. I thank you therefore for uploading this track that takes me back in time when I was young, handsome and the man I would never be. Wishing you all a Merry and Healthy Christmas and Happy New Year. Best wishes from Hamburg, Germany.
