Bossk "Kobe" Official Video

Музыка

From the "Audio Noir" album | In stores now: dthw.sh/bossk
Bossk are an atmospheric post-everything band from Ashford, Kent, England.
Over the course of a decade Bossk have blurred the lines between the Post Metal and Post Rock sub-genres, earning cult like status in the underground music scene. They've selectively shared stages with bands including ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead, Cult of Luna, Dragged Into Sunlight, and many more.
Their album "Audio Noir" is a truly transcendent aural experience. Opener "The Reverie" transports the listener to new dimensions through hypnotic repetition and layered instrumentation before taking a turn into stoner doom territory with "Heliopause". Emotional instrumental "Relancer" builds to a sonic crescendo while leading to the awesome "Kobe". A song that shifts a multitude of gears before setting into one of the more chaotic hooks the band has ever produced. "Atom Smasher" then carries some of the heaviest moments of the album before beautifully disintegrating into the touching track "Nadir". Lastly, Bossk unveil "The Reverie II", a brilliant ten minute reprise that shows the band at the peak of their creative powers. Solidifying "Audio Noir" as the best kind of masterpiece; a sea change that the music world never saw coming.

American fan of Bossk here. So happy they've come back out of their five year long hibernation to put out a new record. Glad to see they've retained the ability to put me into a trance state of euphoria for the first five minutes and then drag me right back out of it again. The one thing that throws me off is the abrupt transition from melodic to vocals. I feel like that transition it was a lot smoother on their past two releases but hey, it's probably just me. I'll need another month or so to get used to the new release, but for now I like what I hear.

I'm from the UK, I saw Bossk so long ago that the venue doesn't exist anymore. It feels like since signing to DW they've been in hiding, now I can see where the effort had been going it is so exciting to know this is nearly here.

"My soul seeps out of me As I let go, the game ends My mistakes are laid out in front of me for the very first time They wait for me patiently And all knowing I descend sharply into their liberation It embraces me fully as I fall And a man is waiting for me at the end of the universe"

The first three minutes are easily amongst the best of my life. Cajon players, experience the groove your right hand can serve you :) (I don't quite understand ... if I had a band that could create such groove we would spend QUITE some time there instead of doublebasing, noising and shouting ...)

Maybe in my all-time top 20. I just filmed the hole track at Hare & Hounds, Birmingham supporting Black Peaks. Both bands should be much bigger. No one appreciates cool music anymore 😒
