I wish instead of telling them to move back then sodding of there should be someone permanently there, this poor young chap looked trapped, well basically he is. Why should they have to put up with these total idiots this is far too many people around him, this should not be allowed around the troopers on the ground or the trooper horse or the man/woman on his back. They look so affronted when they were told to move, they actually have no right to stand in the entrance/exit for guards and horses. they need giant signs telling them to move away from the arches. I would like the powers that be to do two hours on the ground and one hour on horseback at the front, to walk a mile in the troopers boots and horseshoes, probably been a while since they had to do this if they ever have. From what I have heard those boots they wear aren't exactly comfortable to walk or stand in either so idiots and uncomfortable boots isn't really fair is it? There is a great need for more people to stop the maniacs thinking they can do what they like here. Well done to all of the troopers but my heart really goes out to that young trooper (Chits man) he did do a very good job with great patience💖

Remember that a 17 hands high horse (at the withers) is equivalent to a human height of 5ft. 8ins. (All horses are measured for height at the withers, which is that sloping bone connecting the neck with the spine/back). And an 18 hands high horse is level with a 6ft.2ins tall human. These magnificent Cavalry black horses are usually around 16.5 to 17. hands, or taller. So if you think how small children are compared, their parents are crazy to take such risks to let them so near. Horses 'read' groups, crowds, danger etc as a natural safety instinct. Their weight and muscle-power is formidable too. 🤔❤

He probably is older, but that was my exact thought re his age. I felt so sorry for him, he looked quite distressed. I was wishing he could just leave. The public treat animals in an open zoo better than they treat those highly trained humans. Both humans and animals deserve respect - the animals seem to get more. Something has to change. There has to be new rules and understand the real respect these guards deserve. It’s just going to get more crowded and more distressing for the guards and horses. Same old rules for the guards, BUT new rules and regulations and for visitors. I shouldn’t even have an opinion lol. I’m not English, I’m Australian. Well meaning rant over lol

They're not being deliberately rude at all, they're just tourists doing what tourists generally do when trying to take photos and not bring particularly aware of their immediate surroundings. Having guards, horses, police and tourists squashed together like this will inevitably result in the odd unfortunate incident and I'm afraid it's only a matter of time before someone gets seriously hurt.

Although I'm a great fan of traditions, I think the tradition of the ceremonial guard at Horse Guards should come to an end. It's unfair to expose those men and women who are highly trained soldiers to people who think they are in a theme park. Would not suprise me if some them are thinking "I prefer eating dust in some foreign desert than being exposed to this lot."

It is totally ceremonial and promoted as a tourist attraction. Nothing is being guarded. The guards and horses are being exploited. Some guards tell people in normal voices to back off or get away from the bridle. Others prefer to scream. When people ask if they can touch the horse the guards always say yes. They need clearer instructions printed with all of the rules.

@@masonyoutube7347 My, my, my, what an unthoughttful statement . No, of course everyone is aware of the importance of tourism. It is the number one, legal economy for most of our world today. That's what I mean by "unthoughtfuk" you put minimal thought into your words. Read history. Where I grew up, moved from, and lived multiple places only to return to the neighborhoods we love, we, the locals, were/are the number one resource to our local economy. We do not rely on foreigners to support us. We support each other, we support our towns, we support our state. We earn money here AND, we spend our money here. We take and we give LOCALLY. That's A THOUGHTFUL STATEMENT. We are thoughtful and pay our way through earnings we share within our communities and with each other. The " King's guards" do not thrive from each other. That community cannot survive unless help is given from other countries not even their own country. It shocked me. I have only been taught to earn my own income. To provide, first, for my family never needing other countries to pay our bills or feeed our families. The King's guard the King's property and must expect others, foreigners, to pay their guards and to feed their horses etc. I never have lived this way. My parents/grandparents never took a dime from anyone. We only receive AFTER we work and never from outside our communities yet alone outside our country. It is a way of living the British have undertaken for thousands of years. I found it to continue today, well, shocking. The Brit's have robbed from most of the world resulting in their "kingdom". Never has Britain returned what they stole, or restored land they left barren. I am shocked they continue needing others , foreigners , for survivor in 2024. Simply shocked me.
