Great work, very creative! Just a question on the phrase memories on the RC505: is it possible to switch to a new playback phrase when you are currently playing another phrase? What will happen to the old phrase at that particular moment? Thanks for letting me know, happy holidays! Robbie

Excellent demo and yes you can use just audio out and record into your daw as a single track later or you can use midi to play live with Ableton Live in real time. MIDI keeps your loops in time w the computer or other hardware that accepts midi. Midi does NOT transport audio and neither will a usb cable. Have fun and Google these words for more. Midi. "Midi does NOT transport audio and neither will a usb cable" : a usb cable DOES transport audio, RC-505 connected in usb audio mode to a computer does transmit audio from and to the computer.

If you mean to change "a song" during playing - it's not possible. But if you want to record new phrase on the same track you are playback now - you can overdub it or replace it with the new one. You can also stop the phrase on the 1st track ans start recording on the 2nd and then after o chorus or something go back to the 1st track jus pressing play or turning volume of this track up. +Hippie 80 Yes, this is mostly fo singers and beatboxers. It's really hard to star/stop looper with hand during playing - sometimes impossible. Using foot on RC-505 can damage it pretty quickly. Try to test it by yourself in the nearest music shop!

massimo, it's possible to use foot with a pedal fs-6 (boss) connect on your rc 505!

Witaj. Mam problem z zapisywaniem perkusji w Loop Boss RC 505 mk II . Gitare, vocal .inne instrumenty zapisuje ale nie rytmu (perkusji ) Czy moglbys podpowiedziec cos bede bardzo wdzieczny. Pozdrawiam .

It seems like every time you record a new riff from the guitar there should be a couple silent beats because you have to bring your hands from the looper to the guitar--but there isn't any silence. How are you able to do this and make the guitar fit in so perfectly without using a foot switch?

Just practice and quick hands ;). Probably it's easier with the footswitch but I didn't recieve any... Everything is looped perfectly also because I'm using built-in rythym (or the metronome) so the record is cut perfectly to the end of the bar.

Hi, i have some questions because i am not so good with music technical stuff. How did you record all this stuff? You have the guitar connect with the amp and the microphone on the amp plugged into the rc-505 right? But where it's connect the microphone you use to sing? And where the outputs go? Thanks and great performance :)

Massimo Valente Actually... Guitar is connected directly to RC-505 through instrument input. Vocal Mic is connected directly to RC-505 through michrophone input.From RC-505 with mono line output signal is going to the amp. I rocerded the sound from amp with the microphone but i decided not to use it in the test. Finally I used stereo signal directly from RC-505 headphones output (using stereo jack -> 2 mono jacks cable). So the sound you are listening to comes directly from RC-505 and form guitar and mic connected directly to it. Amplifier is not necessery in this case but I used it as a monitor, instead odf headphones. ;)

I haven't tried but I think you can easily export it through the USB connection ;) you should find instructions on BOSS website if you are not sure how to do it ;)

Yes you can export easily through usb: - either connecting in usb audio mode: you play on the RC-505 and record on the computer in a DAW software where you have selected RC-505 as the audio interface. - or connecting in usb storage mode (RC-505 will appear as an external usb drive) just to copy the individual raw wav tracks. But in this way, you get the sound of the tracks without the output effects applied to them.

nice ...but the guitar go in the loop and the loop go in the amp...yeah ....the micro go in the loop to...is these right thx

Any idea on the settings for controlling this (mainly start/stop) from an external device (in my case the MPC)?

I think i case of RC-505 you can use a footswitch controller (but I'm not certain becouse I haven't tried it). No idea about MPC...

Yes you can. You can assign various things, but not the track mixer sliders :/

hey, do you think that this Station is good enough for the expensive Prize ? and are there actually any problems in this machine? (im from germany) thanks if you answer

It depends on what you are doing. If you need 5 tracks for advanced looping than it's probably the only device and you should go for it. The biggest problem for me was that you have to use hands to deal with it... so it's a problem for guitarist but not for beatboxers and so on... Best Regards from Poland ;)

How did you record this? I have a rc-300 and want to record directly in my daw (for example cubase). How can I do that? :)

Probably you can't. You can export earlier recorded tracks from your looper to your daw using the USB, but you can't record directly in daw.

You can record only the summed stereo track if you connect main outputs to your audio interface but thats all. There is no individual outputs for each channel either in RC-300 or RC-505.

Didn't try.. For sure you can "download" the loops from RC-505 to your computer. Don't know how it works with "uploading".

Unfortunately no... it's not possible. As far as I know you need to use Ableton Live and some kind of controler to do that. Greetings from Poland ;)

No, this is recorded on Edirol R-44 direct from the main outs from RC-505. So there is one stereo file on the recorder. It's the same "sound" you sending to the mixer on the concert... ;)
