Jeez, naysayers, this thing costs 350 bucks. For playing in a band and having a simple but versatile setup that you can run straight into a board for live stuff, it’s fantastic. Nobody in the audience knows or cares about our vintage Deluxes or boutique pedals. I still like buying pedals and still love my amps, but for sheer usefulness and bang for the buck, this shines. And it’s nice and light.

Pretty much why I got the HX Stomp. Light, £350ish second hand, does amps, cabs, IRs, DI, computer connection, stereo, etc. but only three foot switches and needs an external expression pedal. This is a great option for many guitarists. Of course with the HX Stomp you can stack boosts, ODs, drives, octaves and fuzz … but do you want to? :D

Well said Sir! I've used the ME80 for gigs for years...and feel much better about it in places where it could get beer spilled on it than my Strymon/Analogman loaded board or the Helix Floor set up. No one has ever complained...quite the contrary, I think I might have helped sell a few of these units to interested people who have asked about it after gigs. I'll be upgrading to this unit! (and selling the Helix...)

I have a Helix (very complicated) used pedal boards (too much tap dancing) and I have an ME-80 (simplicity) yet thinking of upgrading to the 90 (for a stereo rig) to run straight into the house. If the 90 is anything like the 80, it's worth it. (And your right, nobody cares about the gear you have, they only want to hear good music)

Like many players, I'm old-school. I LOVE that BOSS still gives us all the knobs versus endless menus and submenu diving. I gave up on those years ago. SOLD!

I gotta chime in here from a FoH engineer's perspective: these types of pedals are game changers, and Boss just made it affordable for everyone. (To all electric instrument players, everything below also applies, we're not off the hook!) If the venue has a good monitoring system - or if you use IEMs - and a good PA system, you're golden. I know these are big ifs but, honestly, any live music venue that doesn't have these is only able to host a small variety of artists, which is totally fine. But, for larger venues, gear is so cheap these days, from PA to monitors to amazing digital mixers to both analog and digital snakes, that all a music venue has to do to sound bad is to not care. That also includes the people they hire: you can have a great stage with great equipment, but if you hire an engineer who's rude, lazy, drunk, on drugs, inexperienced (usually to save money on staffing) or any combination of those, it's not gonna go well, and it all still goes back to the venue not caring enough. So, yeah, big ifs. But, IF you have both good monitoring and PA systems, along with an engineer that cares, this will make life easier for both, engineers and musicians. See, the FoH engineer knows the venue and, hopefully, has the systems on- and off-stage tuned and optimized to work for both audience and musicians. This, in practice, is impossible to nail to perfection, but you get the point: things are set to a great starting point frequency-wise. So, you show up with one of these puppies and the following happens: 1) The FoH engineer can push your guitar directly into the PA without the need to drastically affect your tone (more on this below); and they crank your feed into the already-tuned monitor in front of you as loud as you want, so you should expect about the exact same tone you set your pedal to, same tone which you can bring wherever you go and expect to hear right out of your pedalboard instead spending too much time dialing amps on stage - keep in mind every stage and venue is different, frequencies behave and reflect differently, and you'd be very naive if you think you can just bring your amp anywhere and not have to tweak your EQ settings. Yes, the mic will mostly capture the sound of your cab and that goes to the PA. So, why would you ever want to tweak your settings? See the next point. 2) Your bandmates will be happier because the FoH engineer can give them as much or as little of your perfectly-dialed amp tone as they want without YOUR own cranked-up monitor ruining the stage mix nearly as much as if you had your 100W tubes amp on the corner of the stage blasting everyone else. Along this volume blast goes the reflection issue mentioned above. Yeah, your full-stack sounds sick, but sound waves will reflect off any nearby wall, low end that you don't even want in your signal and that the mic is not picking up will build up on the walls, corners, and floor of the stage, and there you have the first reason the FoH person asks you to turn your volume down, to tame that mess you think sounds any good off-stage. 3) The second reason you're asked to turn down your volume is a two-pronged answer: a) Your stage sound blends in with all these horrible reflections and build ups, you get phase issues that you might even notice on stage, and the FoH engineer has no other choice but to tweak, often times drastically, your PA tone to compensate for all that is added and lost in that blend. b) Remember who you're performing for? That's right, an audience. Your ears are most likely above the focus of your speaker cabinet's directionality (hence why you keep thinking you're not loud enough), but the audience is eating all of it below stage level. And you wonder why nobody wants to come closer to the stage? Virtually all of these issues disappear when you carry one of these instead of a full-sized amp. Try it, please. You'd be amazed, after a handful of shows, just how much easier it is for all band members to be happy with their monitor mix, how much easier it is to work with audio crew, how much faster sound check goes, how much easier it is to interact with your audience, how much easier it is for your back to not carry an amp, and how many headaches you won't have to deal with in the future, if you just accept the trade-off of not having a huge rig blasting behind your back on stage. I mean, there are ways to get around these problems with a tube amp, but they are more complicated. But you could use an attenuator/load box with a DI and cab sim. I do agree with everything you said about relying on the house monitors and PA if they’re any good xD

@@guyfawkes8873 Yeh, there's no excuse for venues these days to not sound decently good. Well, except when there are all these amps on stage, not only guitar, let's be clear! "More complicated" doesn't even make justice to how much more complicated that would be. And even the attenuator with a cab sim, that completely defeats the purpose of bringing an amp almost altogether since it's your speaker that colors your tone the most at the end of the day. I'm sure you know the magic of a JCM 800. I've worked with some many guitarists that bring their heads to use the cabs available at the venue, only to find themselves losing their minds trying to make that stuff sound good. The right speaker is essential to guitar tone. Keyboardists and us, bass players, can get away with so much that it simply isn't fair when it comes to the struggles guitar players go through. I don't envy you guys, but these pedals and similar boxes are such no-brainers in my eyes. And I know we're talking about guitar amps here, but I play bass. I learned looooong time ago that, if I am happy with my sound on stage, then something is not right. That usually is followed by me asking "am I too loud?" and followed by me turning down because everybody and their uncle who lives out of the country said yes. I only play part-time now, but I used to play full-time and the music has always had room for improvisation, so I had to learn how to rely on me knowing the songs very well, knowing my instrument very well, training my ears to the point that I know what it would sound like if I played these notes and those lines, ... all that fun stuff, without relying on actually hearing myself that well. I rather hear well what my other bandmates are doing so I can make informed decisions on what to play. After all, we're still playing for an audience: They don't care if what I hear on stage is imbalanced, and, sadly, there's often not much that the sound person can do. I try to work with the staff and players on stage by bringing the bass amp closer to me, tilt it upwards if possible, and get the volume to where everyone else tells me is the limit, and the rest of the equation consists of dealing with it.

It's always been hard to get that pristine guitar tone to express itself through the PA, even when the sound guy is attentive to guitar "tone" (unfortunately most aren't), and you are 100% correct: you can run your processor/amp-modeler/IR-loader/etc straight to the board, and the EQ on the channel can be left flat most of the time, but YOUR sound comes out. Easy on the sound guy, and easy on the player. The only problem I've found is when guitar players have that "awesome bedroom volume, sans band" tone dialed in only to discover that it sucks in the mix, and does not sit well frequency-wise once other instruments are present. But if a player actually tests his rig out at rehearsal and they can make it sound good through their small rehearsal space PA, it'll sound twice as nice through a big system.

The boss me 50 has been in my pedal board for the last 12 years. Bought it in 2006. Bought a 2nd one too as a backup . Never let me down .

@grahamcharlton9704 I have the me 50 too, but the me90 does a deal more than just amps and "connectivity". Having an effect loop alone is pretty dope. It can be used as an audio interface which is frankly useful. Some new effects that add up, a looper that lasts few minutes. Sounds generally better than me50 in the distortion department. If you are a delay fan you will have a blast. The change banks has no more latency and an effective fade in fade out blend on top of that which makes changing sounds seamless. It is absolutely superior to me 50. It gives a lot of flexibility for more advanced guitar players who want to add more color and layers of eq and volume boost for more dynamics. I loved my boss me50 and still use it for jam sessions to preserve my me 90, for rehearsal purposes the me90 is just perfect and my master pedalboard is used for rare live occasions, but I will rewire my pedal board and add the me90, because it is very convenient. Also something I do appreciate, the headphones out sounds really good, the best headphones sound I heard so far for e guitar.

I can testify to the build quality of these ME units. I have a ME-70, and years ago, I backed over it with my car on accident (talking to my bassist for a LONG time after a rehearsal and forgot it was on the ground beside my tire...oops). It was inside a pretty heavy-duty laptop bag I was using to transport it, along with some cables and other odds and ends, but it had the total weight of my car on top of it, and not a single thing on it broke. Pretty sure the only maintenance it ever needed was to tighten the expression pedal screw a little.

Great comprehensive video as always. I own the Boss ME-90 too. It's been great for me at my low-level of bedroom playing. I like things to be at hand (or is that foot?) when I'm playing and don't enjoy going through loads of menus on a computer or phone. I also own the Boss Katana 100w MK II amp. Looks like I'm all Bossed out for now (or until the next big Boss thing comes along...)

I too am using it with a Katana and I found it is the best thing. I use the "Guitar Amp" output setting of the ME-90 connected into the "Power Amp In" of my Katana. In the ME-90, I set the "Output Setting" to "Katana-100 Return".

This was the first-ever pedal review with extra acrobatic performance in red crocks. It was awesome. On a separate note, excellent presentation.

I have the ME-80 but now that I've seen the loop on the ME-90 I'm thinking about "upgrading." I love the ME-80. On the stage it's perfect, and even in the studio it sounds good. I have kind of built my speaker cabinets and amplification around it so when I mic my cabs it's beautiful.

I used the Me80 for a bunch of years and liked it, when it finally broke I moved to a podgo but sometimes I miss the simplicity of the 80. And the looper was always fun for home practice. Maybe I’ll meet back up with the Me100 😊

The BOSS Me 90 is especially an excellent choice if you have less or no experience with guitar effects. The bigger units ME 100 and 1000 need experience in designing effects. Finally the ME 90 covers all effects that you need as average guitar player. The BOSS ME 90 is a real "plug & play" effect board and you don t have to spend nerving hours with programming the computer.

Just bought a secondhand one from a guy who bought it just a few months ago and decided he's not a multiefx guy. Still playing with it, but coming from stomp boxes pedalboard, I kinda agree with the manual mode to be the easiest and most straightforward for me to use straight away. Great video by the way. For a 23 minute video, good job in making it interesting that I actually watched the whole thing without skipping, well in fact, I rewinded to re-watch a few parts.

Like the review dude so I just wanted to know is this definitely better the the me80 ? From what I hear and see with the 90 is wow I’m ordering 1 , it’s on standby as don’t really want another door stop never mind keeping on buying something that isn’t what I was expecting. But your video/review does make it very appealing to have for the cost maybe you could do a comparison review on the ME80/ME90 . Keep up the great work love you reviews as it’s honest stuff 🤘

Thanks for the review. Been looking at these as not only a live option, but a backup to my Katana. Also, I typically run my Katana direct into the mixer, this would be easier to carry around. But just like have a backup guitar, I always worry about something going wrong with the amp.

Someday a company will update the VAMP2 with a modern software and it's simplicity will shine among these more complicated products; as you have shown, the ME90 seems to be very straightforward and useful at a variety of situations, as it should. Here in Brazil these modelers are not cheap. Around here the GT1 is somewhat cheap, ME 90 is around 800 USD. Cheers!

He says he's using the harmonizer for "God save the Queen", but he's clearly using the "Humanizer". Harmonist is under the Mod block. I'm not surprised he concludes that it doesn't sound like a second guitar!

I’ve got an ME-80. I’m so excited for this. I use it strictly in manual mode with the pre-amps disabled (going into an amp) and use a reverb pedal in the effects loop of the amp if the amp doesn’t have good reverb.

Agree better reverb onboard and analog sounding od/ds/fz, though fuzz is ok but nowhete near a DS-1 RAT or Ibanez 850od.

Picked mine up today and it's better than expected. Using the 4 cable method with this new ME-90 and it's quite an upgrade over the ME-80.

I just upgraded my ME80 yesterday. I loved my ME80, and the 90 has a bit more flexibility and options

I love hooking up the Hughes & Kettner stomp man to ME-80 then orange cab , light weight rig easy to carry and set up

can you please make a comparison of the sound between the boss katana and the me-90? i would really like to know if the quality of the effects and distortion are the same. it should be an easy thing to do with the 4 cable method i guess. thank you 🙏🙏

Well done video, as usual. I continue to dig into all the sounds and options with the ME90. I really like it so far. Some great tones! I’ve made a few videos exploring the tones and usability as a grab and go style effects board replacement or as an all in one solution into a P.A. So far, I prefer it as a good grab and go fx board. I’ll be checking it out into the front of a catalyst (just picked one up). It’s a great versatile unit for a really affordable price point! 🎸😎👍 Btw the ME50 was My first multi fx unit and I still dig it for practice etc.

I reviewed my ME-90 on my channel a few weeks ago, and through my Mesa Boogie amp, it sounds very good. Ive also used it through a PA, and it sounds just as good. The Boss Katana will colour the sound of the of the effects, but it still sounds ok.

How are the overdrives on the ME 90? Some say they are "rubbish" or "garbage". Is that true? That is my main concern about buying this thing. Cheers.

I just replaced two live rigs with the ME-90; a 2-channel built for extreme metal with the neck p/u independent for cleans/dirt, and a wet/dry/synth/wet 'David Gilmour on space acid' rig (both sans amp head). It is handling every tonal need I have, plus all the bizarre signal routing I've been employing to not sacrifice tones live are so much easier.

Fun video, something not for me but each to their own 🙂 Have you tried the NUX whateveritscalled pedal thingy? Looks pretty decent and a little more up to date than the Boss.

MY ADVICE is this, (based on the accepted fact that the sound solo at home or in the headphones is different from a mix), The method I use is set each bank for different applications. one for recording, one for your main amp, one for your live into the PA and one for any other different playing situation.

Just a thought ...replace chicken knobs with knobs with a digital line that changes as turned or where they were in a patch. Make them easy to change out too so that can by replacement parts. Last other one that bugs me is with the first digital knob idea this would allow you to tap a pedal and change the effects in a pedal bay 1-4. Do that and people would even more be all over these than they already are, myself included.

I remember the ME 10 back in the very early 90’s I so wanted one but couldn’t afford at the time. Now I’m buried in ridiculously expensive high end gear because I can and it’s just the way I like to lead my life. However if I was still in the same boat as I was back then this multi fx would be and is a no brainier. Boss have always been fantastic 98% of the time. 👍🏼

Just a comment about the Gt. AMP/LINE switch. You do _not_ want to use it in LINE when running into the power amp of your Katana (or any other amp). The LINE switch is for use with FRFR speakers, DAW/mixer or headphones and turns on speaker emulation. I do not consider the speaker in a Katana to be FRFR as each of the Katana models have speakers with a specific voicing. For example, a Katana Artist's speaker is intended to emulate a Celestion Greenback in its response while managing the power section's much higher output. Using the Gtr. AMP setting is suitable for both going into the preamp or the power section of a guitar amplifier. Going into the front end, one _probably_ would want to turn off the amp models in the ME-90. I think the ME-90's design ethos is fantastic. It's just sooooo easy to use. Sounds great. And can even be used with batteries, so busking with something like a CUBE Street is a no-brainer. Nice review.

Have you used the Boss Tone Studio to switch out any of the patches? In the Parameter Guide, I see that you can switch out some patches for one of the patches. For example, you can switch Muff Fuzz for Oct Fuzz, 60s Fuzz, Guv Ds, etc. Dying to hear the other fuzz options

I love and I Iike to menu dive with the app. You get a little more options plus you can mess around with the IR's.

Years ago I was in a rut and had to stay at the Salvation Army, I ended up working in their donation warehouse and along with every video game console from the last 30 years, I went home with a Boss ME25, which I still have to this day. Once you get the hang of the controls, it becomes 2nd nature, and the effects are top-notch of course. Some of the amp models on mine are questionable but for the most part it sounds great. I would imagine that this newer model is even more refined and sonically pleasing.

I sold my ME-25 and got a GT-1 and still regret it with menus will be selling it soon and get the ME-90 soon

I've had the ME-70, gave it to one of my daughters when I bought the ME-80 a few years back, just purchased the ME-90 and sold my ME-80 just the other day. The 70 didn't really have a way to use the unit as a guitar interface, so I was hoping the 80 would give me a better tone for recording. It kinda did, but still was clunky and the preamps just didn't sound that good. They could approximate, but the feel wasn't there. The ME-90 has an advanced interface, is bluetooth compatible with an add on module (which I bought but haven't tried it out yet) and the preamps really are soooo much better, you can dial in that Strat clear and clean blues tone that gets almost fuzzy when you pick harder, with tweaking the high gain sounds are much more realistic sounding and feeling. I rarely use the factory presets nor the user presets, just use the unit like a pedalboard and it is so far beyond its forebears in tone and touch. This one is definitely a keeper, and I may start selling off my discrete pedals except for a good looper, synth pedal, and my Zoom CDR-70 because it has some really lush reverbs. The ME-90 also takes only 4 AA batteries to run it, the former pedals used 6 AAs. It's also a lot easier to grab and go for gigs. I've gone to a local park just to jam out by myself with my traveler guitar (Vaibrant Deluxe V88X), ME-90, Pock Loop pedal, and a Katana Mini amp. Totally off the grid, and had a blast.

I have the 80 and I love it. It is the same thing in my opinion

I use a ME-80 as a lead guitarist on my worship team and it has been a very economical option to run my PRS tbrough a mixer/PA. The other guitarist uses a helix which sounds good too but i prefer the ME80 over it. Now does this thing sound as good as a fedner reverb amp with a 3k effects pedal boars, ofcourse not. What it does, it does well and at a price most can afford. The tones i am able to get with a quality guitar like a PRS standard have been honestly really good. Im sure the ME90 will do what the 80 does but looks like it has color leds that follows that helix theme.

I’ve been using the me90 in a worship context and it has been great. It’s taken a bit of work to get it to sound the way I want it to direct, and I’d still probably opt to run it thru my amp, but most Sunday mornings for convenience, I run it direct. I much prefer the dials and the wysiwyg over the various modelling units I’ve had with touch screens and numerous menus. Especially when we’re trying to get to what truly matters which is the worship.

@jamiewhite3703 I think it can pull off a decent crunch just past break up and it sounds decent so I'd tweak with how much gain and the main volume nob. This thing isn't the greatest Amp modeler so you kind of have to mess with it for a while. I'll see what my settings are when I get home and post it here and see if it's something you can work with. Not the best option for metal imo, but a nice blues rock tone with NY PRS out the mains is what we got.

I own a BOSS ME-5, and it still works great. From the 80s beer and cigarettes era. These things last.

This is great. This is like having a manual interface Boss Katana - no computer required for swapping and tuning effects - which solves a big problem for me 😅

Just bought the ME90, it really is amazing if your goal is simplicity, I wont spend 1200 dls on a touch screen unit, looks unsafe to my needs, ME90 sounds are awesome, thx Andy.

The colored lights are cool, but can be hard to see settings in a dark room. A switchable backlit option for the settings and knobs would have been nice. I have to use a little flashlight in darker environments.

I have a Boss GT-1 and use it constantly. It’s easy to dial-in and sounds amazing.

I totally agree bout the number of presets needed. I have a Zoom ZX four and I could make some 20 Nice sounds but in general I jus use 6 sounds with some little changes in order to get my own sound. A personal sound that's what males The difference.

There isn't any additional amp modeling. You can load cab simulation IRs (three at a time; 4 total including the default IR).

Hey there. Nice video. So... by selecting the line on back, that enables amp sim AND cab sim. So you had the cab sim going through your boss katana speakers. Is there a way to use the amp sim only, while keeping cab sim off, if you choose to use power amp into physical cab?

just got mine tonight from the music store

comparison with the sonicake matribox II and maybe donner arena 200 would be amazing because these are even more affordable without the BOSS logo and both can keep up with the me 90 very well IMO! the katana MKII is an amazing amp , just a few bucks more than the me 90 by the way.. cheers 🎸🎸

I think this sounds pretty good honestly.

I started with a ME-33, upgraded to a ME-80. I then went for a GX-100 as it seemed great and is, but I couldn't convert my old ME-80 tones to it; it is a lot to get your head around. A few weeks ago I swallowed my pride and bought the ME-90, and have converted most of my tones, and love it.

With all the different kind of led lights available there should be no problem using in a dark venue , a faint glow on the board should work

I want to understand if there is considerable difference between boss GT1 (COSM) and Boss ME-90 (AIRD), in how it responds to your playing..

Main thing, have they improved the sounds from previous models like the ME50 or the 70? Eg, updated firmware etc for the preamps?

Still using my ME 70 regularly. It seems that the bones of the ME units haven’t really changed. The FX loop is a great addition tho.

My son has a Boss Katana 50 Mk II with an Airstep (which i saw on your channel). He plays a Fender Stratocaster and a Hagstrom Fantomen. He mainly plays at home, but has played one gig so far. Would you suggest this or something else?

IIRC one of the previous MEs allowed the guitar to function as a MIDI controller for a synth. I think it only worked with a computer and through a DAW. Maybe. Does this have that functionality?

I have the Katana MK2 Artist and bought the ME-90. I have seen others use the 4 cable method for better option of effects placement in the ME-90 chain. Could you do a video on that hook up with pros and cons using that method? I also don't see how they could create such a versatile unit with all these options and keep the price as low as they do. I'm newer to this technology and would like to know why, say, a Tone Master Pro is so much more money. Thanks for the video!

I use a Boss GT-8 through a Peavey Classic 50/50 or through the house at times. I tried the Gt-100 and i didn't think it compared to the GT-8. Does the ME-90 make such a leep in tone that it is worth the change?

Yes you said it right. Too many patches it just mess up your mind. For recordings that's ok with experiments but live the most important is to have an identity sound.

Did u mention that u can acces effects using computer that are not listed on the face of me90? Or did i miss it?

I had a Line 6 Variax 600 and POD XT combo put through the PA - I used it live to give acoustic, tele, Strat and kickass Les Paul. I had it set up to play all the sounds needed for Hendrix Watchtower just by hitting the Up switch I also used it to drop tune to G for Stones and Quo, and full drop a tone down to play All Right Now as the singer couldn't get the high notes anymore. The amount of effects options in the POD was mindblowing and together with the Variax I had a huge amount to play with - but I only needed a fraction of it's power. I stopped using it because it was a huge unwieldy thing and the Variax was starting to have problems. I bought a Katana 50 when they came out and I have only four presets to play with. Some of the online presets are naff and I discovered that the overdrive effects are either on or off - I can't control the overdrive with my guitar volume control like I could when I had a Blackstar amp (sold cos it weighed a ton) . So I am back where I started with simple floor chorus, delay home made wah and homemade overdrive. All the money I have spent on trying to get the tone that I had as a teenager.

The one big thing I don't like about this unit - and this is by no means exclusive to the ME90 - is that the looper is not global, but you have to select the looper from within the Delay block. Therefore not every patch has a looper, which means you have to add it manually and save the preset. All a bit of a faff, really, so I would much prefer it if the looper was a stand-alone function. The other thing I don't like is that the display is next to useless really, especially in terms of which preset you're in. I get that they want the ME series to be all about simplicity and no menu-diving, but think about how much easier it would be to have a backlit black and white LCD screen, with scrolling characters, just for ease of preset identification alone. The same scrolling display could easily tell you what amp or gain etc you've selected avoiding the uncertainty of having nothing but a number and having to work out which effect / amp etc that relates to, based on the position of the rotary knob. Re the power supply vs battery power, I love the fact that this can be battery powered and it lasts for ages, especially if you're using rechargeable batteries like the Sanyo Eneloop batteries.

How is the bypass when using it with a regular amp? Does it suck tone ( no true bypass i think) ?

Can I ask how you record this as you said using the four channels, I’d love to get recording properly rather than on GarageBand - yes GarageBand.

I've had mine for about 3 months and I still really like it. Honestly - the amp simulations sound digital and not very good - but the rest is great. I'm running it into a 5150 III and just use it for all the effects and the looper. Got rid of my pedalboard and just use this. You really need to run it with the 4 cable method to make it sound it's best as the reverbs and delays sounded a little weird running in the front end of the amp. Unfortunately it's a long process of updating and installing the computer interface to get it to work correctly. It was one of the most complicated processes I've ever had to do with a piece of audio gear because there is no wizard to walk you through it. Better print off the instructions first. I highly recommend if you aren't into endless tweaking.

Guitarists hear with their eyes to a significant degree- I bet in a legit blind test the naysayers would be able to get many different sounds out of this that they would love But there are many guitarists out there who are vaguely similar to camera gear heads who wouldn’t be caught dead using gear that is several steps away from being top of the line.

@@TheGuitarGeek people love shaming others choice of gear. You gotta use what's the best for you, your music, what situation it's being used in and for what cost. If this unit or something similar ticks all those boxes, then who cares if it's not a Fractal. The JHS motto "if if sounds good, it is good". I got pedals, but I want a unit that I can grab when I don't feel like taking my board out. I even considered the Boss GT-1 because my bass player uses the bass version of that pedal and it sounds good to my ears.

I've got the me80 and I think it's great value for money. But using it in very dark gigs is a pain in the ass.
