And they only cost 2/3rds the MSRP of the amp itself. Very gnarly! And very practical for us blue-collar working stiff musicians. Who work at the local steel foundry when we aren't jamming out Def Leppard covers down at the local dive bar. Am I right, fellow rockers? Y'all keep on shredding and don't forget to smash that subscribe button harder than a semi-conscious groupie. Very gnarly! Very Rock n Roll! *This message has been proudly brought to you by the Roland USA Corporation*

By far the best demo on KZread IMHO! Great tone and player. And what a relief to hear punchy clean tones rather than …well you know! Thanks for this! 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Flexible, economical, good all-rounder for bedroom, amateur and semi-pro guitar players - but which professionals use it? Do any use it to gig with?

Hardly... it was just 'created' by running the amp on a variac to drop the voltages and for sure vanhalen was NOT the first to do that.

This is not a 100 watt amp. It draws 77 watts from the wall so it cannot be. My oscilloscope shows that it outputs 64 watts at 8ohms and less than 50 watts at 16ohms. All speakers are measured by RMS and so are all reputable amplifiers. This amp uses a mostly imaginary “peak power” number.

@@mrbas5150 OMG! 🤪🤪 I will not change my opinion about guitar players and enthusiasts being a truly opinionated bunch! Sometimes actually bordering on being jerks or worse. Truth be told, unless it's a point to point wired boutique amp utilizing the utmost scrutiny in manufacting, there will be descrepencies in the actual wattage. If you dropped into your local music store and measured across several identical amps, you would not get the same results. My first amp was a Peavey Pacer. God rest its soul! :-( I kept blowing speakers and could not understand why. Then, an amp tech measured the actual wattage and it was 60 watts. Well no wonder. DURRRRRR. The moral of the story is. Unless you pay a lot of money for boutique amp, be prepared to experience inconsitencies in manufacturing. Maybe you should send a nice email to Boss and correct them? Who knows, it might just work and they would go back and spend thousands of dollars correcting the owners manual. It's worth a shot. :-) Cheers

A lot of obviously ad videos on YT. Their sales of Gen 3 must be not that good as expected... No wonder. It's just not worth an upgrade. So mostly people who don't have katana yet are buying. No rapid spike in sales therefore. As a mk2 owner I anticipated stuff like: - Ability to set different tones settings for different booster/compressor types (green, red, orange) - More GA/FC functions, like switching booster types, why should I buy AIRSTEP for this? - Ability to assign min/max values also for knobs like booster, mod, fx. - Ability to playback sound through PRIMARY input with a speaker, turning katana in platform for third party amp sims, or bypass internal amp section completely for that sake. - Ability to disable internal cab-sim completely for line-out/PRIMARY-out. All in all it's a great amp, I will highly recomend it for those who dont have original or mk2

I had the first version of the Katana and a Roland Cube from almost 20 years ago sounded better. I kept the Katana long enough that when I tried to sell it, no one wanted to buy it. Mk II was out for as cheap as I bought mine. I had to give it away. Seriously, I gave it to a friend. They tried to play a gig with it and it wasn't loud enough for a church gig without a drummer. I was embarrassed that I gave the guy my Katana. Most of my pedals are Boss and I love them, but I really dislike this amp.

Nothing wrong with the demo, but seriously (and I mean no offense): Boss should have published this under their name - a publication should never publish verbatim marketing gibberish as editorial content, as there is none. This is an ad, start to finish.

I had a Katana Mk II head with the 2x12 cab and it gave my Twin Reverb a run for its money. Boss's stuff is quite good and the class AB power section really makes a huge difference. I didn't like the stock Katana speakers, but went with an Eminence Texas Heat and a Swamp Thang in the same cab and it was a killer amp setup.

Where´s the dancing girls in the background ? By the way, you are playing your guitar upside-down. Jimi Hendrix never played a left-handed guitar.

That guitar is cool though! As you pointed out Hendrix played a right handed guitar flipped but strings were stil low strings on the thumb side. The guitar in the vid recreates the same vibe in a right handed guitar, where the bridge pickup has the pole piece on the low string closer to the bridge and the pole piece on the treble strings being further up the string, like Hendrix's flipped guitar! Also the string tension is going to be a bit different with the low string being longer from bridge to tuning peg as well as the high string being shorter from bridge to tuning peg. Pretty cool I think as that is going to get you even closer to Hendrix's setup for those wantig that detail!
