Thank you so much Leo for doing the tone comparison! The Mooer sound closer to the real deal and the Boss was definitely shrill in comparison. I still think that Boss makes great products, and like a lot of people have already mentioned, they make great effects. I think considering everything you mentioned, the Mooer is a great plug-and-play option for live gigging and the Boss is a great option for experimenting and recording in the studio. Thanks again!!

Hi Leo, I’m new to your channel and I’m loving it. To hear these fx/modellers compared is awesome. Would it be possible in future to alternate which modeller goes first after hearing the original amp/ sound source - or to replay the original amp in between both modellers? I feel it would make for an even fairer review - as the sound of the original gets lost (for us with short spans of attention!) when a modellers version is played. Thanks.

@@LeoGibsonGtr thanks for the response Leo - I’m not sure that your videos would have to be longer (not that it would be a bad thing!) - you could use shorter length samples or as you say, time stamp it for the more impatient viewer - but it would allow a direct comparison between original sound source and imitation. Keep up the great work.

Mooer is big, it's very natural and honest. Boss takes a beating in this comparison. Honestly, I've been buying products from so many brands for years, but the Chinese won me over. Hi Leo. Great video as always! I have 3 questions for you. How is the transition when pressing the knobs in both units? Do you here a gap, a click or is there a seamless transition? How about the trails of reverbs and delays when switching between the knobs? Also, can the Boss unit do a stomp-box mode for live situations (switching effects on and off)? I know that it has been a year since this video, but is there another multieffects unit nowadays in the same price range that is superior? Thank you,

I would love to hear these two into an amp for a real live playing situation.. I don't want the speaker simulation I just want pedal board that I can chuck on a plane arrive plug and play to the back line that's provided. Just got the Valeton GP200 to test out and it's actually really good going into an amp as a pedal board but not versatile enough.

it is funny how detailed tone comparison was done, and after that, instead of discussion about tones, discussion is about touch screen, stereo out etc. Very nice first part of the review which is practical, and discussion that really did not sit down with the context. To my opinion both have nice menu, and screen so it is not deciding parameter, and the tone from mooer is much more close to the original. Maybe more comparison would be useful in terms of tone capture possibilities though.

@@user-gz7vv6uu7b You wouldn't have to....every venue and studio has them already. Even small ones....anywhere where music is performed has them. But it would probably be a good idea to carry your own too, just in case. So, you're willing to carry guitars and modeling units, but not a couple DI boxes that are the size of a pedal? They'd fit in the guitar case easily, or in the pocket of whatever you use to carry the modeler; not to mention they are inexpensive. It's for these reasons I said they aren't required. It's a nice feature to have built into the modeler, sure, but certainly no show-stopper.

For tones, the differences in modern Modelers is generally insignificant within a price range and feature set. For features, everyone has to decide what the need. As far as quality goes, the Boss seems a little better. Which would I choose? Well, I wouldn't choose Boss, because of my past experience of them stopping from providing repair parts directly to customers. Foolish of them to treat a customer who has spent thousands of dollars on Boss and Roland gear like that. They probably didn't know I'd be so willing to share my story with other potential customers.
