I played my Tele straight into the Boss no pedals. No mic. The thing just killed it. Also ran my vocal mic through it. The vocals were slightly over powered but, still in the mix. The guy on acoustic was running his vocal, guitar and the kick drum through the Bose 32 with the big sub. So there was some volume. Guitar wise it has zero issues staying with a live drummer. Love it. Thinking about a second one to slave to it with the I link cable.

The first thing I noticed was the clean tone. Most of those portables only do the fuzzbox mode. They sound like there's a Big Muff on all the time. I thought they were all wretched until now. Some of my friends want me to come and busk with them. I've been hesitant to go because I didn't want to sound awful, with the bridge pickup on all the time, pounding as hard as I can, and hearing nothing but germanium transistor fuzz like it's 1968. It looks like this rig is the answer. We could even make a live mix on the MacBook and Logic, and not only record, but patch the input monitor through one of these, and get a very respectable live mix. My only possible doubt about this is if we could get a bass sound that wasn't flubby or farty. Logic probably has enough compression and EQ to deal with this. Another thing I love to do is to pair up the Tweed Princeton with another very clean amp that has a strong mid scoop and plenty of brightness. This makes for a very 3 dimensional guitar tone, and sounds bigger without being louder. I call this the "Sparkler and Growler" setup. Think Keith Richards with the Tweed Twin and the Ampeg V22, only nowhere near as loud. From what I can see from your demo, this is very much of a thing that's worth looking into. I'm gonna have to go and sort one out. Thanks for the demo. It was first rate. You're a hell of a good player, and my guess is you're one of the good guys. Hats off and CHEERS!

The Cube Street (original and new) is a good tool for blowing away a lot of the weird voodoo that people get into their heads about amps and speakers. The amp is solid state and a relatively low wattage. The speakers in them are six and a bit inches. And they do the job for busking real good. The whole thing is well designed, robust, and it just works. The relatively small speakers do you a favour by cutting all the mud. And you can learn a lot from throwing different combinations of guitar/voice/keys through them. Well done to Boss for improving on the original too. Also, thanks to Dave for demoing how the new version works for him and the way he uses them. Maybe try taking it out somewhere and just playing with no expectation of any audience and just for the joy of playing outdoors somethime Dave? Kinda zen busking. Just playing, and if anyone stops to listen they stop to listen. If they don't, they don't. You don't even have to take any money. Just play.

I just use backing tracks on my phone, into the line in jack, works great...
Had a cube 60w For 5 years It only went for a marshall 1/2 stack. Dave the voodoo was Coming through mate. Perfect....

Nice man meditation guitar cave!
Looks like you were having fun Dave.... my question is..... I wonder what two of those would sound like together on the street and would you potentially get removed by the noise police??? Ps.Love the acoustic tunes, thanks Dave.....
Thank you for this great démo again !! Please what is your OD effect around @20:28 ? it's in the Boss or a pedal of your pedal board ?
Dear Sir Mr Dave, You’re a dashed good saleshumanperson. I’ll never busk, but that sounds great and I’m sure most people could find a use for it (er … especially if they play guitar). I can’t think of anything it doesn’t do. thanks, Richard
Best busking amp I've ever owned...and befor that it was the original Cubestreet. But #2 version is just perfect for my needs.
Hey Dave you should hook up both at the same time playing each with a different amp Might have to get one darn it Dave 😊
Hey, thanks for review, got a question here. Been using old Roland Street Cube forever, and always on JC Clean channel. Is that one gone now since Boss took over?
I have an original release generation Roland Mirco Cube, in red color, and it is amazing. I wish I would have bought a Roland Cube 30 instead of the Fender G-DEC 30 I bought, but I was on a SRV and Fender kick at the time, an Fender was still acting sane, not evil, with was in 2005/2006/2007
Great review..an very tempted to buy... Mainly for vocals an guitar... Do you recommend a microphone? Im planning on using it for sound therapy by using vocal toning, buffalo drumming an rattles? ✌️

I’m not sure if that’ll work but I’m not sure. Sorry.
Just play.
Daveee!! This is straight fire. I'd pay for tabs 23:00 and onwards, also fell in love with the chords at 24:10. Do you have tabs on the patreon? Cheers
Love the Boss Cubes this one is best yet!🙂
Everything in your room is black, it took me a good minute to find the amp when I first turned on the video! Lol, sounds great! 👍😎
I think we’ve got another BUCKETHEAD / JEFF BECK level of talent here❤️
Bit of Hendrix being channeled there Dave, ta.
Busking can be loads of fun....and I've made plenty of money doing it... I've had the original street cube for years, and that new one sounds fine... I just use backing tracks on my phone, into the line in jack, works great... Street performing does have a few drawbacks, but if you find a good place, and people treat you good it's the most fun.,...
What mixer could feed into mic channel? To enable more than one?
I use my Rowland Micro Cube in the house for practice Never going busking as I don't want to cause a public order incident. Nice amp but strictly for those with talent . Play on brother.

"A mere street fighter like you has no chance to win... or even knock me off my feet!" That should be the quote for the upcoming street 1 v street 2 shootout video or beat em up video to be more precise. "I've never seen a combo that intense!" Yeah, true, Boss combos are pretty great if I do say so myself.

@@thedavesimpson Hi Dave what do you think of the new EV everse 12 battery PA against the JBL eon1 mk2 or the Boss Cube Street 2? for singing to backing tracks outdoors, can I ask your thoughts on these, thanks😊
Say me and my wife both played little zoom pedals, G1x and B1x for example, reckon we could both plug into this? I mean with the bass through a multi effects pedal into the instrument input, my wife's guitar could go directly into the guitar input, right? This would save some headaches on PA speakers etc aha

He says towards the end that he's got treble on zero, bass on zero and middle on full on his favourite channel which is the crunch channel. Pretty sure the rest of his playing including the acoustic is on those settings too.

Thank you for not mic’n it because mic’n amps is just over kill on KZread … I’ve turned off mic’n amps video’s a lot especially when it’s a small combo amp review mic up & running thru a 4x12 … Really? How’s that a true review ? I really like these amps But I’m staying away from amp apps. I got rid of my boss katana 100watt combo for that reason and buying $1,000 iPhone or computers to stay up to date for my amp isn’t worth it. So I’m looking for & going back to tube amps. I still have my Roland ( I won’t use there app either) cube LT 10watt stereo to keep me going in meantime. I’m eyeing the Marshall Orgin 20h because I already got an 8ohm 30watt cabinet, I’m thinking I can another 30watt cab and how nice would that sound - stereo sound oh ya!!!
