Boss 7 Ton Log Splitter Review. Will It Split a 19” Log

Underestimated our wood use. I’ve put a few cords through this splitter and it hasn’t let me down once.
Boss 7 ton 15 amp log splitter purchased from Home Depot.

I really liked how informative you are Andrew on the operation of a log splitter I often don’t read directions when I operate things.

Thank you so much. I’m terrible with reading directions. I don’t mind watching videos though which is why I like making these for others

I have the same one. Your little shim just saved me time! I was rushing to get the next log on to save that time. Why didn’t I think of that!

I’m glad it helped. I try to cut up a few of them if I’m going to be splitting for a couple hours. Trying to think of something more permanent to mount there vs a small log.

Good video. I got this same splitter and I'm gonna use it tomorrow for the first time. I live in south Texas, so I don't have to deal with the cold temps you do. Looks like I got a decent one. I'm subbing. keep the vids coming!

Thanks for watching and subscribing. Glad you liked the video. Unfortunately we haven’t done anything with videos for a couple weeks now due to Covid. But while I’m at it. Giving Covid a 1 out of 10 and don’t recommend 😂😂 Should be back to uploading this upcoming week.

@Double A Homestead damn that sucks dude. I had it 2 August's ago and yeah, it's not as fun as I thought it would be lol. Get well and I'll be watching for your next video. Oh, got to use the splitter today and it worked great with some pecan wood. Take it easy!

I see what you mean about the xtra piece before the pusher to make the trip go father through the wedge. Can’t uou put a log BEHIND the pusher to reduce the return travel? Thanks

You might be able to put something to stop the back travel however that won’t get rid of the need for the small log to fill the gap. I’ve learned To operate the handle with me knee while I use both hands on the logs. Complacency in this case though would lead to some fingers missing so have to be alert at all times. I’m going to try to think of something to attach permanently to the front to get rid of the small logs I need. Do you have the same splitter or just noticed from the video?

@@rottiejakeluke I certainly appreciate the feedback. If you are considering this model, I’d buy it again if that helps. I think I’m up to around 6 cords split this year on it. I did have a few wet pieces that had some bad knots that wouldn’t split in the spring but I was able to split them about a month back once it dried out a little bit. I can’t fault the splitter for that being it’s just a smaller electric.

@@doubleahomestead7794 i very strongly considering it. I currently have an hydraulic one, the big I-bean gas motor style. But getting old now (just turned 77 today) I’m tired of having to lug it around.. i, minutes ago noticed a very similar unit made in the UK. It’s called Titan-Pro. Three year warranty, built in stage stops and can get with a 4way splitter, too. Don’t know if they will ship. I’m going to send them an email now.

@@rottiejakeluke if it’s around 7 ton capacity my only concern would be it’s ability to split any decent logs with a 4 way. 7 Ton will get the job done but is lacking for any serious work. Let me know if you end up buying it though and If you like it.

No more gasoline engine power tools for me. Just only the generators and that is it. I don't have trouble out of the generators. Just the power tools The rest are going to be cord electric power tools> REASON? there cheaper, lighter, dependable, and much much quitter
