Yes,i am impressed too with my sound with the Bosko preamp,i changed the pickup to a Alnico one

How did you wired to parallel? I didn't find any diagram so I connected white and red together with the black wire, but I'm not 100% sure about that :)

It depends which brand of the pickup,but its not difficult

Hi,nice video you made,I ordered the same preamp and soon i have to see how I am going to mount my pickup in parallel to the orange and purple wires from the preamp,I have an alnico mm pickup and a ceramic mm pickup,I want to see which one gives the best sound at my Sterling Ray 4 sub.

Let me know if you like the alnico or ceramic better! I don’t remember exactly which wires I changed to wire it in parallel; I’d have to open it up again and see. And yes, the orange wire goes to the pickup hot ( + ) and the purple is pickup ground ( - )

@@danielbeemstra3059 it was a tight fit getting the preamp in, but I was able to do it. I had to angle it a bit but I got it to work. Just don’t push too hard on the preamp…you don’t want to loosen any connections

If i can tell you something, with a nordstrand mm 4.2 and your modded ray 24 ca you would get an even more realistic replica of a pre ernie Stingray

@@danielbeemstra3059 yes, in the end i did make a replica preamp pre ernie ball and with my mm4.2 it sounds exactly like a pre ernie

@@StellarHamster I have here a pre ernie 78,but my ray 4 sound almost the same with a roswell mm pickup,only with slapping the G string on the pre-ernie sound slightly higher
