    Well, I will just say this about the VideoWave, because my grandparents own one. It is a TV that has the sound of a huge Home Theater system. It literally shakes the walls of their home and sends sounds all over the room. Dialog directly from the TV, music and sound effects far off to the left and right like towers, and surround effects that seem to come from right behind us, to the left and right, respectively. It is an amazing piece of engineering. The REASON they bought it is their home is not set up to effectively put a 5.1 system into the space. No place to really place speakers anywhere and get good sound, SO they tried this out with a 60 day trial period in their home. From the MINUTE they had it delivered and installed they knew they had made a good choice for their situation. Is it a good choice for everybody? NOPE, but if you can't put good speakers in the room without worrying about running wires through walls and a lot of professional work, this is the perfect solution. The money they spent on it equaled the cost of a TV and a good system, so the cost balances out. It's just too bad that it didn't catch on except in the New York, LA and Houston markets where it was a huge success, according to the trades, so they discontinued it. I'm glad they got it when they did.

    No they arent. If anything they are the Apple of the speaker world. Cheap average sound at a premium price. The are only the world's best to people who have never heard an actual quality sound system. I mean over $5K for a tv???? You could get a better picture and wayyyy better sound and still have lots of money left over. There is a reason audiophiles do not like them and why they advertise to the older population, those with lets say less then perfect hearing. But to each their own some people like being suckers and others dont.

    Ok, yeh i researched it before, and I agree with you 100%. And that's why people also bash them because they don't understand. They think that just because they are paper, they are bad, but paper cones can be some of the best out there.

    Oh, yes! The B&Ws are just INCREDIBLE speakers. Handmade in England too if I'm correct! Those have been used by Abbey Road Studios for quite some time too. Well, I'm glad to hear you're enjoying your B&Ws! I acutally have a set of old Polk SDA 2 towers from the year 1986. They are great speakers too! But still, they are probably nothing compared to your B&Ws though! :)

    Bose uses paper drivers, because its a proven natural material to reproduce sound. There are alot of reasons if you wiki it to get technical. Bottom line alot of companies use paper cones and for good proven reasons.

    Well, actually you didn't burst my bubble, because I kind of realized that the Bose products didn't have very efficient drivers in their products, and are still very expensive. So I actually agree with you 100%. I'm just disappointed that Bose does this, because they have so much potential to be some of the best with all their marketing and variety of products, but the gimicy crap put inside the actual products just takes it all away.

    I agree with you. But have you compared those high end paper drivers made by other companies to those laughable tiny 2.5" drivers used by Bose? Yes, paper is good. But Bose charges you as if they use Titanium or any other metal drivers.

    Bose products are very powerful, and produce very deep sound, but why do they use PAPER speaker drivers if they are such "high end" products. I still love Bose, but what's up with this?

  • @PlatinumEagleStudios

    Bose uses paper because it is the best material to use for accurate sound reproduction.

  • @perlewitzaudio

    Well, actually, after I made this comment I looked it up, and actually paper drivers are excellent acoustic structures for speaker cones and I didn't know this before, so actually there is nothing wrong with paper speakers because they do sound great! And I do own a few Bose products, and they all sound fine. And thank you for further informing me too! Cheers! :)

    Because that company is all about profit. They don´t do any research, well in marketing they do, but in technologies developments they don´t. Lets see, why they use paper driver instead of titanium, aluminium or magnesium in their "high end" units... hmmmm maybe it´s A LOT cheaper to use paper than fancy metals? So that 500USD wave uses a few tiny $5 units and cheap plastic enclosures, all costing less than $100, and the rest is profit. Still wonder why?

  • @Tejonnl
    @Tejonnl11 жыл бұрын

    Basically if Bose was a car company it would sell an Hyundai Accent like car to people, charges it for the price of an Audi 6, and through gimmick marketing to convince people it performs like an Audi 8.

  • @xspiritdannyx
    @xspiritdannyx11 жыл бұрын

    Sorry to burst your bubble but Bose products aren't that good when they are held up against other lesser-known audio companies. The fact that they use paper in their speaker cones show that their speakers are nothing really special. Look to companies like Klipsch, Focal, Martin-Logan, they produce home theater speakers that sound 10x better than the Bose at the same price.

  • @PlatinumEagleStudios

    @PlatinumEagleStudios

    Bose uses paper because it produces the best most accurate sound. Even JBL uses paper cones for that very reason. Don't be such a stupid fuck head, okay kiddo? Thank you very much. Bose truly is the best when it comes to high fidelity audio.
