anyone know how this compares in sound to the sounlink mini 2? I have that speaker, and I love it. I'd like something just a little beefier to have around though since I'm using the mini even when watching TV and stuff. it's actually still a good listening experience, but I'd ike to find something a little beefier hopefully without dropping too much coin. would this fit my needs?

I think you missed the point. It's a sound bar for a TV. TV is mostly talking/dialogue. The human voice doesn't require a LOT of base. I know you gave it a bit at the end of the video, but you should have started with that part.

True but ppl also use the sound bars for music. Sometimes more for music than tv.

Yamaha yas 209 or ATS 108 which one is best. Both are offering without external sub . Your suggestion on it thank you.

I bought one for my bedroom TV. You do need to turn up the bass to max, but this is an impressive speaker for the price. By turning on the dialogue button, the speaker simulates a center channel speaker and really makes the dialogue stand out when watching a movie or TV show. This speaker sounds best for movies and TV, but music sounds pretty good too.

Did you try boosting the base?

How do you compare this one with the $150 Vizio 2.1 Channel Soundbar?

I think this is better than most other reviews, I'm glad you played it out and told me it's flat, I always look for bass and thanks to you I know I haven't wasted my money so thank you man, keep it up, I like this style of video.

I think you cannot add a sub woofer in Bose Solo 5. But with Yamaha YAS- 108 you can add a subwoofer.

Hey, great in-depth review! One thing , you mentioned the bass was subpar and then at the end you pointed out the bass button. Did you notice a significant Improvement with the bass turned up? Did it distort them. Thanks!

For its compact size the bass is descent there was no distortion with this sound bar

Good review but i have few suggestions: 1. Demonstrate more 2. Less words 3. Be direct to the main point of the video this video could have been just 5mins instead of 15

Thank you for this video! I have a question, is it possible to connect my Harman Kardon with this Bose? What I mean by that, is basically connecting it with the AUX cable from Harman Kardon in to Bose and the Bose be connected with the HDMI to the tv. I am thinking to buy a good budget sound and still thinking this Bose solo 5 or else Yamaha yah207. I want a cinema kind of sound XD

I was about to get it but I spent my money on work out gear so I will buy this when I get paid from the end of the month for $199.99. It still cheap. I'm not rich but it's affordable and Imno cheapskate.

I got the Bose Solo 5 for it's compact design (21.5" Length) to fit my 28" TV cart. This soundbar Rocks better than 32" Samsung TV speakers. The Bose Universal Remote has excellent quality and ergonomics, programs easily with it's instruction manual as it replaces other electronic remotes... I give it 4 out of 5 Stars. = )

If the TV is turned off, a short time later the soundbar will automatically shut down if it was not physically turn off.

Hell yeah hands down. The 108 for sure.

Setup any soundbar from analog/headphone jack and your remote will control the volume on the soundbar. If you use analog - you can even keep the built-in TV speakers on. It doesn't sound QUITE as good as digital/optical, BUT I prefer controlling volume from one remote. Oh, switch your headphone/audio out to VARIABLE on your TV (it's in your TV settings software). The setting is normally 'fixed' at one volume line out (like optical digital)-- we need it set to variable.

If your TV has Bluetooth built in than u can hook it up. Go to your TV settings and look for Bluetooth If u find it enable the option and hit search. Hope this helped.

It is for your tv so it’s designed for that reason in mind for better dialogue etc... I would go for the 500 series sound bar from Bose you can pair that with surround speakers

Push the Bass Button, then Volume Up or Down.

if the sound bar is connected to your computer and u r listenning to music if u multi task it will cause lots of distortion to the speaker only do one thing at a time if u listen to music or watch a movie dont do anything else

as long as this sounds better than my $10 computer speakers I’m satisfied lmao

I bought one and I love it. I didn’t even mess with the bass or anything cause it sounds perfect how it already is lol it’s good for Bluetooth also don’t let him fool ya I thought it sounded very good and he’s right about the tv sound quality it’s so good I highly recommend it. It’s a steal for the price. Go get one!

Every device now should have an app to control. Hate having to deal numerous remotes!

Not all TV sound garbage..... I have the LG Nanocell Series 8 4K Ultra HD TV with Dolby Atmos and it sounds great but I do need a soundbar to have that movie theater sound since no theaters are open during the covid-19 quarantine... You should have gave a demonstration playing it on your TV watching a movie or something so most of us can see how that quality is!!!!

It's okay. Remember it's a compact soundbar it won't give u the best Bass

I can hear the distortion playing at max volume. You shouldn't expect bass from a tiny soundbar. Real bass requires cone surface area and cabinet volume. Equipment should be tested for what it was designed for. You wouldn't test a push mower as a hedge trimmer or an economy car at the Indy 500.

Paul Sebring hey Paul I have a Phillips 2.1 soundbar, and at a relatively low volume the soundbar itself vibrates and distorts the dialogue. Is this a blown speaker or can i fix this? (Its mounted on the wall but it’s fastened well)

You shouldn’t play any speaker at max level. Not good for the device, certainly shouldn’t judge a unit based on its max level performance. You want more sound, spend more money.

@@genebaldwin7342 max amplifier output probably occurs way before the volume control is at maximum setting. The volume control adjusts voltage gain directly, not amplifier output power.

You didn’t mention you can program the remote to any device TVs etc that’s why is so big!
