The primary difference is that the LS135 system features a sounbar speaker array configuration and the SL235 offers 2 Gemstone® ES speaker arrays. Please note that the LS 235 is discontinued and no longer available. Please contact us via e-mail if you have additional questions: AskBH@BandH.com

I have a question I hope someone can help answer. I've been doing research and can't find a work around where if this system is connected to a Smart TV, and only the cable box and whatever other device that's connected to the Bose console will play through the Bose speakers rendering all the other features on a Smart TV useless like KZread, Netflix, IE, basically all the other cool features on a Smart TV will only have sound through the TV speakers and not the Bose system since these features are on different inputs. Anyone have any ideas how to get everything to play through the Bose system?

The Bose Lifestyle 135 was first introduced in late summer/early fall of 2011. The Series ll hit the shelves about 2 years later in 2013. Bose has not announced a Series III or a successor to this popular system. Please contact us via e-mail if you have additional questions: askbh@bandh.com. Mark S.

+alex amaya The most important difference is that the Series III (now discontinued) offers wireless audio streaming and the earlier model offers an iPod/iPhone Charging Dock and an AM/FM tuner. Mark S

+alex amaya The main component s are essentially the same. The Series III system features the included Bose® SoundTouch™ wireless adapter: Stream online music services like Pandora and Spotify, plus your library of downloaded songs wirelessly through the Bose® Lifestyle® 135 Series III system. The included wireless module connects over Wi-Fi® to SoundTouch™ systems you can add throughout your home, for an easy-to-use multi-room audio system. A one-time, guided setup process gets you linked up. In "Party" mode, your SoundTouch™ systems play the same music simultaneously. Or each system can play independently, giving you different music in different rooms. Control your music with the remote or use the free Bose® SoundTouch™ app available for Apple® and Android™ smartphones or tablets. Please be aware that both of these systems are now discontinued and no longer available at B&H. This is the replacement: Bose Lifestyle SoundTouch 135 Entertainment System (Silver) B&H # BOLSST135S Mark S

+alex amaya The consoles themselves are very similar. The defining difference is that the Bose® Lifestyle® 135 Series III includes the following: Bose® SoundTouch™ wireless adapter: • connects the Bose Lifestyle® system to your Wi-Fi home network • free easy-to-use SoundTouch™ control and setup app for smartphones, tablets, and computers • supports MP3, WMA, AAC, and Apple lossless audio formats • stream from online music services including Pandora, Deezer Premium, and iHeartRadio for thousands of free Internet radio stations (subscription required for some services) • Spotify Connect compatible (subscription required) • Ethernet port for connection to a wired home network Mark S

Sadly this outdated monstrosity is a relic of a gone by age where passthroughs existed. Useless with 4k tv unless optical is available. I feel sad owning it but I will live with it. Also a few stupid things, running the damn bypass using optical and plugging the HDMI cables into the tv directly fails to warn you the thing won't power off entirely unless you (before unplugging it from HDMI) go into the power settings in TV source and change them to NORMAL instead of POWERDOWN MENU. Otherwise it sits endlessly waiting for a command that never comes, in this case if you press OK on the remote it will turn off but what a pain in the neck every single time you press power you also need to press OK. It was driving me nuts after a few days till I figured this out. In fairness the remote warns you to SEE POWER SETTINGS ON TV or something like that but it meant ITS POWER SETTINGS and you need to change them to NORMAL that was the menu doesn't interfere during powering off. Also that remote is useless garbage now, good for nothing. 100 bucks online currently yet can't control anything unless it's going through HDMI passthrough that won't do 4k hdr LOL
