Love my Bose AM700 from 1997 I just did an unbox video on! Over 20 years in sealed box and they sound great!

I just bought one from good will because I was curious to see how it was put together but mine is a series 3 little different 5. 25 woofer wow I'm use to 10 12 15 inch woofers great video these are relics of the past interesting to see how they are put together thanks

Thanks for posting. I have a different series of this sub, but it gave me the confidence to yank that sucker apart. The glue was not that strong once you got started pulling/pushing.

Nice video man, good job, I got the JVC FS SD 550 is the same as yours but another colour, I'm in love with its sound now I'm looking for a JVC subwoofer the model FS SD 1000 comes with one at 60 Watts.

I got one too. Some of the free stuff I get. Yes i got the sub too. The tall skinny speakers were beat to hell and i took them apart. No saving them. Wasn't really impressed with them anyway.

I was curious as to what was on the inside of this. I got a thrift store that gives me all their electronics and this was one of the items I got. It was in good shape just had to clean a scuff or two. Whould you believe they gave me the cube twisty speakers nearly a year ago.

That's cool. I never found a bose sub like that yet

That was the shoe box design. I believe it was from 93 to the early 2000s. Bose change the design to the ported bass like the AM 5 series 2. The difference between the AM 5 and AM 3 was the amount of drivers in the bass. The AM 5 has two 5.4" drivers. The AM 3 had a single 5.4" driver. I have a AM 5 series 2. I got it back in 1997. I use them for my rear surround speakers. After all these years the are still going strong.

I have one of these that I am starting to tear down, but it was the active type with a built in amp. I'm just now tearing it down. The box seems like it is in very good shape. Do you think I should try and tear the box apart, or leave it and just test the electronics in it? Also, if I were to replace the speaker, what specifications would I use? I think Bose uses full range drivers in their acoustimass modules? I'd like to replace it with something even better, with more punch. Any suggestions?

I have the AM-7 purchased new. It’s great for Dolby 3 channel logic. Upgraded the the double falcons to the double shots. The AM-5 Series V has upgraded drivers in the satellites. They have a higher frequency response and they also upgraded the drivers in the bass module.

The "Double Falcon" is the humidity of the axiom ratio is doubled as you expel the gumshion response of the twin co-engrasion dynamics thereby rotating the residual gravity perpendicular to its directional mandates which greatly increases its reciprocal osmodic pressure relief!!!so on the basis of that you must continue expel the frequency shollops to a constant degree otherwise you’ll increase the gronyiwoops profoundly! Can you hook the cube speakers directly to the receiver and still have the speakers sound as designed or must you have the RCA Jack running to stripped red black speaker wire?

No u can not If connecting like that it will go full / there set up to run mids and highs

Hi! Im Gustavo, and i live in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Its very good works what you did, but can I ask you? May be you can answer me. I want to buy one of those to work together with Bose 161, in my backyard. Dou you recomend? Do you think i need to conect the both channels L/R in and out? Or just one (L) will be enough? Hi. Have a question about the speaker. Is this speaker a double coil? if so... how can I only use the speaker without the rest of the electronics from the box. I assume since the speaker has two connections, then each one is a 8 OHM but plug them together makes it a 4 OHM impedance?

Yes it’s dual voice coil . You can use it like a normal speaker. It’s dual 8 ohm

Connect the + to + - to - and yes it will be 4 ohm

You didn't need to seal the plate amp? Lots of energy will leak there if there seal is bad. Nice video

Mine is in perfect condition(I opened it) and it doesn't really do much. It makes only a little of bass and it plays the full frequency range for some reason even though the wiring is good and the crossover is fully working

I just got this bose accustimass 3 IIbit I. Dont know how to connect them. I need an amplifier?

This Bose speaker is not a subwoofer ,it's a bass module that most likely can't go any lower than 100 hz .

@@TheTechGuyYT actually the new bose acoustimass 300 Woofer is a bassreflex but yes all the older ones were bandpass

@@michaelledford4751 thats not really true my acoustimass 5 series 3 Plays 30hz on -3db so it actually goes down Pretty good. The new acoustimass 300 active Subwoofer even Plays a few hz deeper than that.

2 coils? I have 2 Series IIIs.

Yeah acoustimass 3 systems use dual voice coil drivers

, one thing Bose does better than anyone else is theyer box design. they take the T-Line to the stratosphere .

This is not a TLine, this is their propietary acoustimass wich is different since it's not tuned in the same way.

It is a 6th order band pass box with slit ports rather than conventional port tubes. Nothing too special.

As for no tweeters Bose along with many others who build micro sized speakers select full range speakers it saves space and does a decent job

Well some of their speakers do but Bose has always been known for their full range drivers like in the 901 or 802

Not really, there are plenty of audiophile speakers sold for incredible ammounts of money that use full range drivers. I'm not implying that Bose uses quality drivers but many brands sell amazing drivers that sound even better than some tweeters, without factoring in that full range drivers don't have time allignment problems or crossover to build or other stuff that gets in the way
