    *Just completed a big trim project on my house **MyBest.Tools** Performed very well. Also appreciate how easy it is to move, set up and store with the integrated stand. No more cutting wood on my knees.*

    You do have to spend some time setting the saw up... blade, fence, etc. But once done, the saw is great. Fairly compact which is Nice kzread.infoUgkxXh-4_3-ZT1fFWP91ZV7iVqzElr0lEb-a I did get an Incra Miter Gauge which takes some setup as well. The stock miter gauge can be adjusted in the miter slot with a little painter's tape... this tightens up the side to side play a lot.

    WARNING! Just bought one of these & the 'simple to move' angle arm lever was stuck fast. After much swearing (& with help from my calmer missus) i finally worked out that you need to unscrew the circular turning handle and with the other end of the spanner (provided to change blade) you can loosen the strange shaped bolt holding the lever. Thus making said lever easily moveable. Worth noting this as i couldn't find anything on the web or in instruction manual telling you this info (though i did find a couple of comments from people as confused as i was!).

    Nice Video! Forgive me for butting in, I would appreciate your opinion. Have you heard about - Schallingora Dexterous Programme Scheme (should be on google have a look)? It is a smashing one of a kind guide for building any shed in no time with no experience minus the normal expense. Ive heard some awesome things about it and my best friend Jordan at very last got cool results with it.

    The blade guard should be horizontal. You need to raise the black anti kick back with the leaver next to the blade and the guard then sits flat as it should do.

    Depends on what you’re doing, that’s only possible if you are cutting all the way through a piece of material and not just making a rebate.

    Warning: The blade up/down mechanism may no last long. I have had one of these for about 4 years. After a year or two the blade raise/lower mechanism started to fail - i.e. stiffen up and make it hard to move up and down. These days it's stuck in the all the way up position, so I can use the saw, but it is still disappointing. I tried taking the unit to pieces so I could dismount the mechanism to free it up and give it q complete refurb, including installing new sprockets. (The plastic ones supplied stripped their teeth). But the mechanism is attached by with fairly small steel cross-head screws. They are impossible to remove without stripping the head. I WISH BOSCH had used allen (hex) head bolts for this critical install??? Then at least I could take it apart and do a decent service. I have had a lot of fine Bosch blue pro kit over the years. But I cannot recommend this saw. The blade lifter is terrible. That said, it may well be an issue with ALL jobsite saws if they use the same mechanism.

    I'm here because I'm consider to buy that saw. What did you cut? Or how that happend to your saw?

  • @BrianRPaterson

    @BrianRPaterson

    Жыл бұрын

    @@omri3753 It's nothing to do with what I cut. I used a variety of blades and it cut different materials quite well. The big problem I found is the mechanism that raises and lowers the blades. The runners (the rods the saw rides on) get gunked up (not awful) and they also rust (bad). The result is that the adjustment wheel gets harder to turn. That is really bad because the cogs on the end of the adjustment screw are plastic. If the mechanism gets too stiff, the teeth will eventually get stripped off. I appreciate that you need to keep tools clean and serviced so they run smoothly. But sometimes you want to take them apart to give them a deep clean. I even bought replacement cogs to swap out the damaged ones. Here is the second problem. The adjustment mechanism is attached to the saw body by fairly small, steel Philips Head screws. They are impossible to remove without stripping the heads. The saw body is aluminium, so I expect galvanic corrosion between the alloy body and steel screws has bonded them in place. Philips should have used ALLEN BOLTS with decent sized heads so owners can get decent purchase and remove the mechanism. Most of the other fasteners on the saw are ALLEN BOLTS. I have no idea why they didn't use them here. Anyway as a result of all this, I can't get my saw blade to move at all. I got it to max height so it is usable, but that's obviously not ideal. But, I can't take the mechanism apart to really service the components and replace the plastic cogs. Last and perhaps least important, the paint that makes the table top nice and smooth has rotted and is flaking off. In my opinion, a job site saw like this should be designed to handle fairly tough conditions. The mechanism on this unit seems too sensitive and light-duty for the intended purpose. I don't know if other brands use the same kind of mechanism, and if this is a problem with many or all job site saws. But, I'm not happy that: A: The saw mechanism has stiffened up B: I cannot easily take it apart to clean and service such a critical part of the system I have some great Bosch Pro powertools that have been great. 12V and 18V cordless drills have lasted at least 10 years, which is impressive. The GTS 10J has some good features. For example: The fence -- which is one of the most important part of any table saw -- is robust and easy to adjust. The table extension is also stable and easy to adjust. But, I am very disappointed with the GTS 10J's blade raise/lower mechanism.. My advice would be to look very carefully at the raising and lowering systems on any table saw you are considering. I hope this helps
