Can i use concrete drilling knob for drilling in wood and steel ? As concrete is most strongest, so the knob will work in softer material too ?

Could you please tell me how does that speed trigger switch work? I tried to hold the switch to a speed I need and tried to press the trigger switch on left side of the drill and it does nothing. As far as I understand, doing this should lock the speed even If I main trigger is pressed full. I have seen this hammer mode and drilling mode. I see no difference when I try to turn on Hammer mode. It still rotates as normal and does not hammer while drilling. Is this a problem ? or normal?

There's a difference between drilling and hammer mode, in drilling mode it will smoothly rotate at any speed but in hammer mode it will create a knocking sound due to impact vibration which you can observe by either doing drilling in concrete or metal surface at lower rpm , the sound is very much similar to pneumatic digging machine. You can also test this by your hand but be careful, just set the drilling machine at impact hammer mode now grip the chuck area with finger , now slow press the trigger it will start making sound and you will observe some vibrational impact on your finger. About Speed lock switch in GSB 450,500,600 it just make the trigger switch little bit hard to operate if press tightly thereby making gradual increment and decrement of RPM else you too have observed it gains high rpm quickly

Thank you for your response. I have a question though. When I place the switch to hammer mode and then press the main trigger, it rotates the chuck. Where would you like me to press, from front or from side ? I do not have the device at my location currently as I am outside. I will test this once I get it. I hope I do not harm myself. :-) Speed control button on left was tested. It seems to me that just holds the main trigger at maximum RPM (or fully pressed) and is not actually locking the speed to desired speed. Lets say If I want 1000rpm, i press the main trigger to get respective speed and press the button to hold it to that speed (Which I assume should work like that as mentioned). But it does something, please confirm if this is what it should be doing.

Just grip the spindle from front part which consist of holes for key insertion and tightening of jaws, and press slowly the trigger and will start observing the sound.......or try save option put a masonry drill bit and set the drilling machine to impact mode and press against a wall while pressing your trigger for drilling at lower rpm. In this video too you can hear that sound ( 15:00 - 15:13 min video position) when I am drilling in metal and the rpm gets low ,it start vibrating and at higher rpm the sound vanishes ie no impact effect. About the speed lock switch , it won't lock any constant speed even in my device too , i can change the speed while pressing the speed lock switch and changing the trigger position.

Yes you can drill in concrete too, use Mesonry Drill bit for that purpose.

I think you should first have some search on google if don't know in depth of this subject before making any comment. It doesn't matter wither the drill bit is shiny one or black one. Twisted drill bit are used for metal , missionary for concrete and the pointed one in your case for wood
