19:50 To be fair, every time Naruto did it was through fighting and he always identified with the "bad" stuff that happened in those people's lives (which kinda proved how sad was his own situation and the whole ninja world in general), with Boruto he doesn't have that much is common (Boruto's got a loving family, talent, lots of friends) their lives are so different that it really makes sense if he can't "connect" with his son at that age (SPOILERS AHEAD) Also the reason why it was so much easier for him to connect with Kawaki later

I personally feel Boruto's exposure was even sadder in the movie. Hinata notices first with Byakugan, then Naruto goes down next to her to confirm. I felt like if I was in Boruto's spot and even though he was cheating, I could sympathize so much with him, probably because I've been in that spot before.

For me it was the oposite, with the anime we got to see him bond and the relationship with both Sarada and Shikadai and when he is exposed seeing those too react made it hit that much harder. In the movie you couldn't even tell if Shikadai and Boruto were really good friends while here we had entire arcs to show use how close they are.

While I like the extra stuff added to the exams I think Naruto asking Hinata to check with her byakugan was a little better. These characters have a relationship and it’s the little moments that show how close they are. They could have kept that and still had the rest of the new stuff.

The next few episodes are so so nice 🔥

Although it was shitty of Boruto for cheating, he’s just a kid. Naruto was never there for him and therefore they didn’t necessarily have a strong bond. If they did Boruto probably wouldn’t have been swade so easily to use the scientific ninja tool. What I don’t understand about Naruto is that he never had a dad, but when he finally gets the chance to be one he’s absent from his kid’s lives anyway. I understand that he thinks of the whole village as his family but he literally has a son and daughter. Why would you choose to prioritize over a thousand strangers over your own children? Okay enough of that rant. Also tho ima be honest. I think if both Naruto and Sasuke were actively involved in Boruto’s and Sarada’s lives they probably would have stood a better chance against Shinki. At this point in time the only thing Sasuke has taught Sarada is the fireball justu because they have just finally recently reconnected and Naruto has not taught Boruto a single justu and expected him to beat Shinki, whose dad, Garaa literally taught him everything he knew. Imagine if Boruto knew rasagan this early on. Sure it’s not a guarantee win but at least Boruto would had have some sort of heavy hitting move to finish off opponents easier. Not to mention if Naruto trained Boruto in shadow clone usage. Obviously Boruto can’t do 1000 clones because he don’t have Kurma but if Naruto worked with him he could have at least raised his limit of 5 shadow clones and learned how to use them better. And obviously Sarada couldn’t have learned chidori anyways because she doesn’t have the 2 tomoe at this point but Sasuke could have trained her to maximize the usage of her sharigian. Spoiler alert but she does end up learning how to maximize her sharigian’s usage during the Deepa arc by training with Sasuke but imagine if she had already mastered it by this stage. Honestly the only reason Shinki won against them is because he had a parent that actually taught him. Boruto and Sarada are most definitely talented as they did get into the two finalist but that don’t mean shit against experience.

It is important to keep the time frame in mind here. It's not like Naruto was always like this, at this point he has only been Hokage for a few years at best and Boruto himself says before he became Hokage he was always there for his kids. The novels expand on this further, he spent every free moment of his time with his wife and kids untill he became Hokage. Naruto at this point still hasn't figured out how to deligate well and he hasn't found a proper balance between the two important parts in his life but this arc is just as much about his growth as a parent as it is Borutos growth as a shinobi. We see Naruto admit his mistakes and acknowledge how he pushed Boruto to this and they then fix and grow their relationship from this. Don't really know what Naruto can teach Boruto though honestly, Boruto is pretty independent when it comes to training with even his master Sasuke and Leader Konohamaru inky helping with the basics. Sarada could definitely have improved a lot more with Sasukes help honestly but only if she had awakened her Sharigan which isn't a garuntee for any Uchiha without a catalyst like her meeting Sasuke was .

This was a test Boruto didn't give two licks about, he didn't even want to enter and even turned down the offer when it was made. The only reason he entered was because Sarada and Mitsuki manipulated him with the knowledge that Naruto would be watching the exams and it was his chance to be acknowledged. You are basing this on the importance this test held for Naruto. At this point this test and being a shinobi meant nothing to Boruto and as such he didn't care about retaking or passing this exam. The entire exam for him was about Naruto finally acknowledging and giving affection to Boruto which is exactly what happens when he won in the rounds before.

@@xsolders1679 Kurama doesn’t belong to Naruto, it only happened that Kurama is inside Naruto. Kurama doesn’t run through genes like Byakugan or Sharingan, it’s not a clan thing, not a talent. Kurama is a complete separate being. He is not Naruto’s original power. Even summoning jutsu of other beings is fare because you use your own chakra to summon them, but not Kurama. Naruto didn’t earn that power until late Shippuden. Neji should’ve been a winner. He used his own chakra, he used his own techniques that he worked hard for, he awakened Byakugan which is not cheating, it’s your clan’s talent. But Naruto literally said “Hey you stupid Fox, give me you power”, then Naruto only had to be angry and Kurama gave him the power. You see what I mean? Following your logic Boruto also trained to use a green shuriken from the scientific tool before the exam, but it still doesn’t make it fair
