Naruto made his rasengans bigger for more power, Boruto makes his smaller and more condensed. If you don't have the Infinite chakra of the nine tails you have to start getting smarter with your techniques instead.

Absolutely! This is one of my favourite things about Boruto and why I honestly find him more interesting than kid Naruto. I love to see how innovative he is. Like Kakashi mentioned he really has his grandfather’s (and arguably Neji’s) once in a generation type genius as well as his dad’s unpredictability, and it really makes for an awesome combination in a character. You’re never quite sure what he’s going to do or come up with next but you know it’s going to be great. I also like that for all he reminds us and the characters of Naruto (and also Sasuke) in a lot of ways, he has a very distinct fighting style and way of approaching things that’s very uniquely his. Keeps things interesting!
