BORRAH MINEVITCH & HIS HARMONICA RASCALS

Комедия

From the 1937 film "One In A Million", Borrah and the boys storm through "Bugle Call rag", "Limehouse Blues" and the title tune in their crazy fashion. Brief glimpses of Sonja Henie, Don Ameche, Adolph Menjou and the Ritz Brothers. Johnny Puleo, the little guy, kept the act going well into the 1960s still playing his harmonica 'upside down'!

These guys were fantastic. It's a damn shame their recordings have been commercially unavailable for years.

I was astounded when I saw them in the film "one in a million" and wrote the name down. I'm sure glad I did! They don't teach them these things any more and we are the worse for it. Just realky great musicians ant entertainers. I thank God for their talent and being able to hear it!

I met Johnny back in '67 when the rascals were playing in Boston. My Dad knew Dave Doucette the chord player and arranger who got me Johnny's autograph. I also rememeber watching them on the Ed Sullivan Show, All the greats started with Minnevitch . Dave Docette wrote an arrangement for Tiger Rag for my dad from his head on a napkin, incredible. thanks for posting.

Inspired clowning and solid music making. That was Borrah Minevitch's formula for succes, and he never let his audience down.

Pretty sure that's the great Chicago musician/comic Kenny Milton (the tall thin guy giving Johnny Puleo a hard time in the beginning) ...can anyone confirm that? Kenny was also in a few minor roles in Three Stooges shorts...
