That bass at 1:30 sounds so similar to how Cliff Burton's bass sounds in Orion. Like a dirty organ on bass, love it!

Probably been said as I'm going back to watch the the ones I've missed, but that's a slammin' bass tone! Steppenwolf were the first concert I attended (I think I was 8 years old) and this was my favorite song when I was a kid. I like your version better, Leo.

The control Leo has when it comes to the low end of the sound always amazes me. It even makes me jealous at certain times! So I would like to suggest a video about how he does that. :D The speakers in his studio that I can see on the video's don't even reproduce what I talk about here. I have a really nice system with 2 Magnepans on a big NAD with 2 REL subs that can blow your socks off, and I can dial in the system perfectly from scratch on Leo's stuff. Subs just on the point of full saturation at the heaviest part of this song and it will work just fine with anything else after that.

It popped into my mind this morning too. After listening to Steppenwolf's original I thought.. "I wonder if Frog Leap made a version?" And sure enough! Nailed it... though part of me expected it to come off heavier than it did. I bet he could make it heavier if he tried

It's great but I have to love a few others more even his People are Strange is have to put a position or so ahead.

I believe Leo would have fun making a cover of "Can't Touch this" by MChammer. My favorites are when he takes something from a different genre and does a massively good metal spinoff of it.
